Grant Gabrial
My name is Julian Luthor!
After reading Foetus' pm I dismissed the idea of Grant being Julian thinking she was joking. You know, messing with me cause we often joke about stuff like this. Oh how I was wrong.
There are many things that make my eye twitch about the current situation with our new Daily Planet editor... aside from him macking on Lois.
arrow Apparently he is another one of the Luthor spawn between Lionel and Lillian correct? But as see in "Memoria" Julian is "killed" by this mother. Lex takes the blame which causes great trauma and mental instability later on. Lex wouldn't be rocking that blue blanket in his hands and singing to it if he knew his brother was alive. Let's face it, Lex is no Hamlet faking his crazy, he totally lost is marbles. Now, all of a sudden, Julian is alive and well with no explaination as to how the two found eachother or got into contact. I would think Lex wouldn't believe anyone who came to his door saying they were Julian. It took Lex seven months to find Lucas but that was only because Lex knew there was a possibility he was alive. Why search for Julian when you saw him get killed?
Age
arrow Lets give a general timeline. Lex lost his hair in the 1989 meteor shower when he was nine. That makes him 26/27 now. Julian was born when Lex was 12. Making Julian about 15.
Does this look 15?!

Exactly. I doubt the Daily Planet could hire a 15 year old to be editor even if he was a Luthor.
Theories
arrow That Grant is Julian's clone. Yes it sounds perposterous and is joked about but it isn't all that out there knowing what Lex has been doing right? Lex was obviously attached to Julian so why now make himself a little brother. He did make himself a fake wife. But Grant stated that he didn't want to be another one of Lex's experiments which gives me the ickling that he is human. He doesn't seem like a zombie or a robot pieced together. But you never know.
arrow Not really Julian. Just another child named Julian. Could be another one of the Lionel Luthor children like Lucas that was named Julian or Lex really really wanted an actual brother and took some kid off the street. However, I don't think they would make this big of a deal out of a different kid named Julian.
All I know is the writers had Lex do something with his vast technology and supply of meteor rock and infected people to concoct up some way for this storyline to work.
As the show progresses I am more and more confused and aggrevated by the retroactive continuity. So Smallville, a toast to you, you have really outdone yourself this time. I am no longer able to predict your next step other than by shouting out crack theories. Cheers.
Anyone notice the episode number backwards? It's how I see smallville now, all backwards.
