I'm calling this post out of order in that there is already a sticky on this topic

on a side note if we are talking about a 2% difference we would be seeing such a change at a rate of about 1.33e^-5 per generation...thats not much of a change from one life time to the next.

Every time someone says we're too good to come from monkeys and so Genesis must be literally true, a little voice inside me says in a sarcastic tone, "Because dirt is so much better."

Discuss my schizophrenia.

Are you saying that God can't comprehend a system of evolution? Are you saying he can handcraft such a system of atoms, which all work in perfect harmony, to not only create mass and energy, but mass and energy in sensible formations, but can't work over a system of genetic changes over time?

Are you calling God stupid?

I do no believe in evolution.
God created all creatures. We did not evolve from anything. He just happened to make us similar to apes.

This wins, in my opinion. ^_^

As Christians we must believe in the Creation Story...hence that the creation "story" is just a Myth...it is known that the first 11 chapter of Genesis is partially MYTH...believing in these stories as they are, is called "Biblical Fundamentalism"...Though the creation story may be a myth Who says that the World did not begin with the existence of God...there is NO WAY of PROVING that this opinion is FALSE...so we must believe in our Christian Faith and believe that God was there before all existence and that he is still here. Also im not saying that believing in the Creation Story as it is, is a bad thing it is all in our own opinions which God gave us from free will.

Seeing as how a chimp could type as well if not better, perhaps there is some truth to evolution after all o_O

Neither creationism or evolution can be proven. Believe what you wish, and let others do the same, simple as that. Live and let live? If neither can be proven completly, all there is to go by is conjecture and heresay, and circumstantial or incomplete evidence. Some people get all worked up over what is right or wrong, and some people have convinced themself they're right and everybody else is, but nobody can know for sure by any scientific means. And not everybody cares, either. If we, as human beings, knew for sure one way or the other, and I didn't care at that point, I'd be ignorant. Right now though I don't see a point to the whole debate. Does it matter which side is right (if either)? What will it get me in life? I'm here, now, as are we all. That's what matters.

well, in all honesty, I have struggled with evolution all my life. I don't WANT to beleive in it... but I was introduced to evolution before creationism, and, well... that has resulted in the complete complication of my understanding and beleif of creationism~

And, I agree with phase, a chimp could type better than you, sorry :/
