[Reflection] ___08.23.05
I was working today, in the lab, when Kyou just popped in and handed me this hefty bottle. Personally, I thought it was rather pretty... like those bottles I filled with coloured sand to make a pretty effect when I was young.
Brings back memories.
He said to put it somewhere I wanted to; somewhere I liked. I don't understand why, but if my uncle says to do so, then so be it.
But where? This bottle... brings nostalgia.
Memories of my childhood, and the bottled sand.

[down the m e m o r y lane we go...]
The waves pounded against the against the sand, creating a sloshing noise that brought Koyuki back down the memory lane.
Every evening, after dinner, she made the same trip down the same road at the same time to the same place.
The beach, back in her younger days; when she was actually energetic [well, okay, more energetic than now], and liked to run about and collect shells.
Or anything found on the beach, including a crab that she had stupidly attempted to keep as a pet once. That had hurt.
Now, she spent her daily walks down the beach, meandering, picking up the odd shell [and crab] and generally gazing out at the sea.
Today, the empty bottle clinked against her chainwatch, looped around the sash she wore. Koyuki didn't notice, she was too busy watching the seagulls. The wolf-girl's flip-flops kicked up the sand as she made her way down the coast and sat right above the waves of the high tide.
No words came out of her mouth; no, she never spoke on these walks. It was one of the few times where she didn't jump around and screech about something.
Later, she left, not noticing that her sash had slid out of the knot that she had carelessly tied. Nor the missing weight of the bottle, now lying with the cork open on the beach.
The high tide came in again, the farthest waves sloshing just into the mouth of the bottle, and ebbing back out.
Again, and again, until low tide.

[taken from my home and s t u f f e d into a bottle...]
Scientists have always observed the fact that deep within the sea, while it was dark and seemingly lifeless, there were always reports of certain phenomenons.
Such as, the tiny bulbs of light, flashing and winking in and out within the darkness. They shown brightly, but nothing ever explained what they were.
When this was reported to the public, people whispered of this strange event. At the time, no one knew what it was and rumors of magick raced like wildfire around the country. Perhaps fairies did exist? These fairies, born of the water, perhaps protected the sea?
When they were angered, perhaps they had stirred up the waves of the deep, blue ocean and caused it to wreck many sailors' ships?
They weren't fairies, of course, but these tiny spirits of the sea always floated about, brightening up the ocean. They gave life to the seemingly soulless ocean depths.
That was it. They were the Soul of the Sea.

"Oh, ********," Koyuki swore, the next morning, upon opening the door for the daily task of retrieving newspapers. Last night she was busy, engaged in yet another battle with Chai and their daughter, Eden, who had taken to being exactly like the most annoying member of the household. The two of them were loud and obnoxious, except Eden was a little less articulate with the noise.
She patted her waist with her hands; no sash or bottle. s**t. Running into the house, The bottle! That sash was expensive, sure, but the BOTTLE was from her uncle and he wanted her to put it somewhere safe! And what does she do? She leaves it at the beach. Right next to the high-tide mark.
"I went... well.. WHERE DID I GO?" She muttered, following the familiar route that she went down by and searching for the bottle at the same time. And the expensive sash.
Luckily, the young woman was aided by a small, blinding glint that bounced off the surface of the glass. She ran over, hoping it wasn't a piece of aluminum foil left by some McDonald-eating-person-who-can't-throw-out-their-own-trash-properly.
But lady luck was with Koyuki, and it was the bottle.
"... how did these blue swirly... fog things get into the bottle?" She wailed, and picked the bottle up. She had to go back and get rid of the... swirly thing! Dump it down the sink?
Once again rushing, the female scientist ran back to the house, leaving behind her poor [expensive] sash to float about in the winds, now unhindered by the heavy weight of the bottle, until it landed into the ocean and was swallowed up by the waves.
Just like an offering, in exchange for something from the sea.

"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
And cue silence.
What was she supposed to say to her uncle? 'Oh yeah, uncle, I sorta left the bottle you gave me on the beach for a night BY ACCIDENT REALLY and now it's filled with SWIRLY stuff that I tried to dump out into the kitchen sink but it won't come out. Even when I tried to poke it out with the chopsticks. [And I broke the chopsticks. They were my favorite pair.]'
... good try, but no.
She craned her neck about, hoping to catch sight of her uncle. Maybe he can explain the .... blue swirly things.
With his shirt unbuttoned, slacks sliding off a little revealing the top rims of his underwear, Kyou struggled to comb his messy hair with his fingers as he hastily ran out of his lab, followed by a book that came gliding pass the top of his head and finally hit the wall behind him.
"LEMME OUT OF THIS DAMN LAB" screamed Lazarus from behind the open doors. "NO!! I'm not letting you out until you can control you temper and your powers!!" Kyou snapped back. With a loud thump and a click, Kyou locked the lab doors, trapping Lazarus behind them. Lazarus had been unable to control his powers lately, and was accidentally burning alot of Kyou's stuff. Kyou had covered most of his belongings in thick fire proof blankets just to prevent his stuff from turning into ash.
Brushing off some ash on his shirt, he sighed and walked out into the reception area, oblivious about his clothes' condition. He was just woke up by Lazarus and is feeling rather miserable right now... I really need to get Lazarus a playmate!!
"... hi un--- uh," Koyuki looked away, and coughed, "Uncle, your clothes."
The bottle dangled in her hands, temporarily forgotten, its contents swirling slowly as Koyuki mumbled a light conversation, "Uhh. Who was that? Sounded like my Artemis... hot-tempered freak."
"Oh.. um.. sorry..." Kyou quickly pulled up his slacks and started to button up his shirt. "That was Lazarus, my err... new scientific creation... he's just angry that I'm not letting him out of the lab, but I'm just afraid that he will bur---" he trailed off at that word. Seriously wondering whether he should let Silveh know about the condition of his lab...
"Anyway, how are you today Silv?" Kyou said with a fake cheery voice, trying to change the subject.
"Uhm..." Koyuki blushed, out of embarassment, "You know the bottle you gave me? I went to the beach and accidently left it there last night... and... now..."
She held up the bottle and the blue-swirly-fog-things-that-won't-come-out to show to her uncle, "It's kind of like this. The fog thing won't come out and I think I did something wrong..."
The young woman coughed and shuffled her feet, and hoped that her uncle wouldn't be mad.
"OH!!!" Kyou gasped in delight, pulling the bottle out of Silveh's grasp as he observes the swirly substance in the bottle carefully. "How fascinating!!" It was as though the swirls have a swirling rhythmn of it's own.
"Good job Silveh!! You said you left this on the beach? I wonder what soul it had caught?" Kyou continued to stare at the bottle as he spoke, clearly fascinated by it's substance. It's not like you see a soul everyday.
"Soul? Did I kill someone?" Koyuki wailed, unsure what the hell was going on. Kyou HAD only shoved the bottle into her hand and told her to leave it at a favorite place and now she had no clue what the bottle had done [bad bottle!]. She really didn't want to take responsibility for some dead kid who decided to look at the object.
Shiny object, nonetheless.
"What do I do with it now?
"Oh don't worry, I don't think you killed anyone... but probably killed something..." which Kyou is very eager to know what it is. "You... just leave the bottle to me!! And I'll get back to you in a few days!!" Kyou peeled his eyes off the bottle finally and smiled geekily like a little kid at Silveh.
But it's not the time to go back into the lab with a raging Lazarus now, moreover Kyou was afraid that Silveh might ((*gulp*)) see the complete mess that is Kyou's lab. Silently in his sneaky mind, Kyou plots to drop by the hardware store in town later to get some white paint and some STRONG dirt remover.
"God I'm hungry, do you have any food to spare me my dear niece?" Kyou said, his stomach growling in complain.
Aughhhhh.
"I took something's life? OhmygodIKILLEDSOMETHING," she slapped a hand to her face, and groaned, "And I wasn't even THERE to commit the murder."
She went through a door after nearly walking into the doorframe, where the employee's cafeteria was, and began to bustle around to prepare breakfast, all the while mumbling incoherent things [about the murder of a thing] like she went out of her mind.
Kyou followed Silveh into the cafeteria, still holding the bottle with the swirly substance in his hands. He took a seat nearest to Silveh and sat down uncomfortably, he doesn't like plastic seats.
He's a little worried at Silveh's condition though, she seemed a little... traumatised that she took something's life. When she doesn't even know what it is. It could probably only a small fish, which doesn't really matter much to Kyou. But it could probably be something more... magical, now that could make this a very interesting subject to experiment on indeed. Kyou thought, excited about the upcoming procedure for the bottle of soul.
Brows furrowed, she set down the plate in front of Kyou and pulled out a chair beside him to sit on.
"I killed something," she wailed yet again, and put her head down. A few minutes later, Koyuki was seemingly asleep. She'd spent the whole morning running up and down the beach, and was exhausted.
Even the preoccupying thoughts of murder couldn't keep her awake.
Finishing off the contents on the plate, Kyou wiped his mouth with a tissue. He stared at the sleeping Silveh beside him, and took off his shirt ((the only clothes he could take off)) and put it around Silveh's shoulder.
"You might catch a cold sleeping here." Kyou murmured in Silveh's ear. Standing up and grabbing the bottle, Kyou sighed and ran back to his lab to get a coat. Hopefully his clothes are still safe from Lazarus's fires and hopefully he had calmed down abit from before.

[Reflection] ___08.30.05
What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. So, okay, I go and take the pretty bottle to the beach, because it WAS making me all nostalgic and sappy and bittersweet or whatever.
And everyone knows I can be careless, right?
So it was perfectly normal that I accidently left the bottle there, didn't notice until morning, and ran back there to get the pretty bottle, right?
Just to find pretty swirls in the pretty bottle and the swirls WERE really pretty!
But uncle Kyou tells me that the swirls means I took someone's soul?
I killed someone and I wasn't EVEN there to commit the murder? What's up with that? Does that make this case a "manslaughter" because I didn't mean to do it? I don't know even know who [or what, says Kyou... what if it was an innocent cat taking a midnight stroll?!] I killed.
I'm such a terrible person.
AHHH!

[Reflection] ___Date Unknown
Sevilin's a cute kid. Yeah, I named him Sevilin. I thought he was a girl at first so I threw the first meticulously thought-up female name I had ready, and then I was informed he was a guy.
And now he won't respond to anything else.
Howev--
The rest of this entry was ripped from the journal, as well as several pages afterwards.
And thus Koyuki, mysteriously and without a word, disappeared from the life of her young and innocent Raevan for a year.

[Interaction] ___07.24.06
The return of Koyuki, meeting of Sae, Cere, and Sevilin. Cue angsty wolfgirl, reasons unknown yet. A year has passed and Sev seems unchanged, except for gaining more vocabulary and a fond attachment to the television. He is still innocent as ever about the real life, and still holds a fond attachment to Lazarus. He's also unchanged the disappearance of his mother, which worries Koyuki slightly. However, things are back on track.
