This is a fun little thread that one of my affiliated regions has running. xd

Planet Iguana cannot be named anything else for two reasons: first and foremost, the human mouth cannot shape the sounds of the actual name, and secondly, everyone calls it Planet Iguana and trying to deprogram that would be awkward.

Diane ripped my sleeve open and ran for the bar counter. She barely even ate a quarter of the pepper.

I stared at the blank page as the cursor blinked, expectant.

[Truth is, this is actually the opening sentence to a novel I started four years ago. After trying my best to make the plot workable, I gave up and haven't touched it since. I stuck the sentence here to remind myself that sometimes, novels and ideas fail but you never know 'til you try. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone but me will get the reference xDD;;]

If a glare could kill, these dishes would be dead. Shattered. Obliterated. Unfortunately, a glare does not in fact kill living or inanimate objects.

Technically the first words of my novel are "cemetery" in about five or six different languages. But the first real sentence is "It was time to go."
