"Well, then if you are ready Edwards, and of course you, Saya, then we shall get going," Kaki, while waiting for a response, loaded his ruck sack back onto his shoulders. He then pulled out a heavy cape on over it, hiding the sack along with all his weapons.

Saya nods in acknowledgement, replaces her hood to its original state, and waits for Kaki to take his first step.
As they begin walking she turns to the general "I need to stop by my cousins house."She says, " I left a very important bag of Herbs there."

"Very well," he muttered, "but we must be quick, the sun will set in an hour."

"Wait!" Yelled the voice of Christophe as he run up to them. He stopped and gave a required bow. "I wish to join you on your journey. It's a way for me to increase in rank, yet at the same time help with the war but not die."
Kaki stared at him shocked at is rude interruption. "And what makes you think I want a child tagging along, slowing us down, and possibly killing himself?"
Christophe looked insulted, "With all do respect, sir, just because you are in your 60's does not make you older. If you converted your age to human years you'd be younger than me."
"Indeed I would. You can come, but I'm not responsible for you at anytime. You will also be required to serve any of us at our will," said Kaki.
"Good, I already told my family I was going with you," he said with a big smile, and loading his bag with food from a nearby outdoor store.
"Hm..." Kaki couldn't help but smile.

He offers the group one last glance before making his horse start his journey toward Durem. It was a few days ride, but that made no difference. That group wouldn't be making any progress toward the base any time soon.
Still disappointed in himself, Baynes makes an attempt to conceal it. He would redeem himself later on. What mattered know is accompanying them to the base at Gambino.

"Let's go!" shouted Kaki at the group as he headed back for the gate, "It should take about three days to get to the Port and a bout ride from there to get to Kingdom Island. It's a smaller island south of Gambino's main Island. It's where the national capital is located."
Kaki stopped suddenly looking over at a stable. "Perhaps we should ride. It would then allow us to get there over night." Kaki walked over to the stables owner and pulled out a large change purse full of Republic Coin.
"I'll give you 400 Lios for four horses," bargained Kaki.
The old farmer noticed who he was and honorably bowed. "For the service of the Republic they are free, Milord."
"I'll have no such thing, now take the money, or I'll have you arrested," he said with a smile as he gave it to the man. He then untied the three stongest horses, and a smaller horse for Christophe, and lead them back to the group.

"Milord!" yelled the voice of a maiden, "There is trouble in the north. The boss men are trying to pass a ridicules law. They want to legalize the use of the 'Storm Operation'. The opposing party leaders in the senate knew that you opposed it as well and sent a series of messengers to find you. I am the last in that line. They need you now!"
"I see. This is serious. We must leave at once with Godspeed. This is for your trouble," he said throwing her a pouch of gold. "I'm sorry Saya, we cannot make any other stops. If you three still wish to follow then come. I will ride none stop until I have arrived at the port. It should be four days." He then climbed upon his horse and took of to the north-west.
((I'm going to skip the four days it takes to get there.))

"You will run your horse to death if you are not careful." He stops to think for a while before following. He had sworn loyalty and even his failure meant nothing if he could redeem himself.
The leader had impressed him somewhat. He didn't seem like the arrogant disrespectful people he had meant in the past.

"I can tell this horse is elven. He told me his name is Hanoath, and that he doesn't tire easily. We shall take breaks, however, as they are necessary," he yelled back to his friend.

Saya peered over at kaki as they were riding.
"Elven u say? Elven horses are very rare in these parts." She said, while mentally examining the situation, "How do u suppose a farmer aquired them? They couldn't be stollen could they?"
