NuclearOops The two most powerful vampires you never want to have to deal with: Lambach Ruthven: The single most powerful vampire in the Tzimisce clan, and is afraid of his own shadow. You'd be too though if you were in his shoes. Kemintiri: Either the greatest Setite to have ever lived or a threat to the entire clan. Arguable whether Lambach is the most powerful Tzimisce (Vladimir Rustovich is still roaming around somewhere), but he's the least Tzimisce-like Tzimisce. His entire existance has been one long series of accidents. He's still scared sh*tless that someone will find out that he is the Sire of Dracula and the rest of the Clan will Blood Hunt him. Archmage Porthos Fitz-Empress: One of most powerful Archmages still active on Earth and one of the most human. Porthos wants to reform the Traditions. He's more like your favorite uncle than the GRAND ARCHMAGE OF UNLIMITED POWER! who happens to be two steps away from becoming an Oracle. Velya the Vivisectionist: The head Tzimisce in the Sabbat (in the absence of "Lugoj" wink, wink) and the greatest Metamorphosist since Yorak, High Priest of the Cathedral of Flesh. He's the perfect nobleman of Romania, he doesn't look like a freakshow and is a scholar, scientist of eminence. Too bad he's got a mad love-on for a 10 year-old girl.

His entire existance has been one long series of accidents. He's still scared sh*tless that someone will find out that he is the Sire of Dracula and the rest of the Clan will Blood Hunt him. Nuh-huh. Read the revised Tzimisce Clanbook. Lambach doesn't have to worry about the entire clan turning on him (which I doubt would ever happen). Lambach has more to worry about what's protecting him than what's after him. The thing that keeps inhabiting the body of ghouls and other Tzimisce and telling him to "be a good lad..." You know, the thing that sired him. And that is why you should fear Lambach, he's been there since the beginning, and he's proven himself to be a survivor par-excellence. He'll be there at the end too, he'll be the last to survive. His sire will see to that. DaidojiKensuke Velya the Vivisectionist: The head Tzimisce in the Sabbat (in the absence of "Lugoj" wink, wink) and the greatest Metamorphosist since Yorak, High Priest of the Cathedral of Flesh. He's the perfect nobleman of Romania, he doesn't look like a freakshow and is a scholar, scientist of eminence. Too bad he's got a mad love-on for a 10 year-old girl. And don't sell Velya short. He embraced that 10 year old, she couldn't handle life as a Tzimisce and succumbed to the beast. Now she's attached to his back until Velya can find a way to bring her back from it's grips, or she drags him down with her.

Lambach Ruthven is a 5th generation Vampire, the Childe of Tabak, not Tzimisce. Lambach was never worthy to be a Tzimisce and he knows it. He was weak, cowardly and indecisive even as a mortal and the Embrace did nothing to correct him. It was Lambach's foolishness that set the chain of events in motion that would result in Tabak's Diablerie at the hands of Dracula. Velya is a great character, he's just a great character who also has the ***** Seal of Approval(tm).

Understand, when it comes to the Tzimisce I've read almost all there is, Libellus Sanguinus, Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand, Both Blood Magic books, more than a few of the Sabbat books, and of course the Revised Clanbook. Where is this written?

Where is this written? Tabak makes an appearance in Children of the Inquisition and Transylvania Chronicles 2. Old Drac was tired of being a ghoul and tired of Lambach's pathetic attempts to dethrone him and replace him with a Danesti ruler. Dracula had also been capturing Tzimisce neonates for several years and using their blood to ghoul himself and his most loyal warriors, the Axes. At the height of the Anarch Revolt, the Tzimisce finally got tired of this arrogant mortal pissant and dispatched several vampires (including Tabak and Ruthven) to deal with the Prince once and for all. However, Dracula was well aware of vampires by this time and with the help of the Ravnos Durga Syn, he arranged for a group of Camarilla Archons to "surprisingly" encounter these Sabbat Anarchs. When the battle was over Tabak was in Torpor and a weakened Ruthven was easily captured by Dracula and his battle-hardened Axes. Lambach was taken back to the dungeons, suspended over a sharpened wooden stake and given a choice. Embrace Dracula and be freed or refuse and be impaled. Lambach, being the sensible Vampire that he is (and not finding the prospect of having a piece of wood rammed up his a** and out through his mouth particularly attractive) agreed. Dracula turned on Tabak, Diablerized him, then true to his word, let Lambach run home with his tail between his legs and a message. The Sabbat could expect a visit from Dracula very soon after... Sorry, that was a lot more than what was asked for, but that story is still too awesome.

I'll have to check those out, it's best that we not continue this further or else we'll find ourselves arguing about a game that's notoriously dubious. White Wolf themselves say that none of the History they write is canon, just someone else's interpretation of the story that they themselves never wrote. It makes discussions like this so annoying.

The Shifters aren't getting much love in this thread, so I'll throw out one of the few Werewolf characters I find tolerable.
Black Tooth, Dark Lord of the Endless Storm: A walking engine of destruction, the living embodiment of the Cahlash the Unmaker, Black Tooth has personally killed 17 or more Bastet, driven the Ajaba to the brink of extinction. He has been stabbed, shot, burned, bit, raked, blown up, and ensorcelled enough to destroy a Sept and he still endures. Only the combined efforts of the Mokole, the Naga, the Ajaba and the 9 Tribes of the Bastet stopped Black Tooth's rampaging in Africa.
Braney the Dinosaur/Deep-Purple-Dark: A corrupted Mokole who operates a torture pit in the Atrocity Realm used to commit all sorts of devilry on Child-Spirits. Braney's brand of snuff is very popular among the higher echelons of Pentex, which resulted in a seemingly harmless children's TV show featuring the psychotic Devil-Dinosaur. I love you, You love me, Let's commit Atrocity.... Despite his evil, Braney is one of the lulziest WW characters ever.

DaidojiKensuke Despite his evil, Braney is one of the lulziest WW characters ever. Ah man, I'd forgotten how awesome Braney was... As an aside, I also loved the fake-rapper in one of the Brujah Clanbooks (non-revised, I believe). Mostly because a player chose to play him based purely on the fact that he looked like some kind of white gang-banging thug (same player who suggested that it was in character to give the prince the finger every oportunity he got. Ye Gods...). Oh he was not laughing when he realised the character has more points in Performance than in Melee, Brawl, Dodge and Firearms combined...
