Perhaps Liet was trying too hard to make Vast remember something, anything, that would get him out of there. Before he could answer Liet's question, there was...something that happened.
It was far too quick for anyone to really know what truly transpired. There were no bangs, no flashes of light, no dust clouds or violent explosions; just an inexplicable feel of something sucking at the world for that infinitesimally short amount of time. When it was over, (though so short that it might have never happened,) something was amiss...
Oh yeah, Vast. The only evidence of the event was a missing boy. And an unconscious Liet.
"...Well, we lost one of them," Strae commented somewhat lamely, though she did not seem particularly unhappy about the fact.

Avedis laughed. "I wonder where he went? Oh, well. I'll find him later," he said, stooping to pick up Liet. The girl was heavy, but not so heavy... "Fates, what is she made of, steel?" With a little stagger for emphasis, he started to stride back towards their usual residence. "Come on, we have planning to do."

Ave's comments were met with a shrug. "Doesn't matter, you're carrying her."
"And I'm sure that I'll be oh-so-important to your planning as always," she added with a roll of her eyes. Planning, indeed; orders or no, looks like she's got her own work to do. Just like it always happens every time she gets assigned with that ten-foot-pole pretending to be humanoid.
