So contemplating the possibilities I came up for a wish for the invasion and I'm wondering how people would take this if it were true (which I doubt).
Now, we all know Ozai's angels know the possibility of an invasion, but how to communicate that? After all BSS has fallen, the avatar has "fallen", and all that's left in the north pole? What if Azula says nothing to her father? What if she decides to push her own agenda instead? The war meeting could have been about the North pole.
With Zuko home he's the next heir, or at least until he screws up. Ozai also looks healthy and Azula, after BSS, most likely wants a bigger piece of cake... make that the whole cake. After all why leave BSS, a place where you are the one who sits in the big fancy chair?
So Azula plans a counter-attack for the invasion and leads Aang indirectly to her dad. There she somehow kills her father and blames it on the avatar and maybe even make it seem Zuko's fault. If she manages that not only she would have a lock on Zuko making him feel unfit, but she would make him hate the avatar, and she would rule since Zuko would feel inadequate and the people may not want him as leader under the play Azula directed. Even if Zuko rules she could still feel he could be a lovely puppet (think red dragon dream moment) or even more easy to take out.
Then we see Azula smiling as she know commands the fire nation as the gaang leaves feeling defeated after not only the failure, but the fact they were completely used. How can they win against the real villain: Fire Mistress Azula?
.... ... ...
I can totally see Azula doing that; betrayal is in the genes of that family. Still, I doubt it will happen.... but it would make for an awesome cliffhanger for me. whee
So theories of how it should end, comments on my wish, or just some additions to it are welcome. biggrin
