So, I've decided to make a post concerning Megadeth and Metallica's newest albums... Likes, Dislikes, whatever. I have a deep love for both bands, but I don't think they should keep going. I mean, Dave Mustaine is just recycling riffs and ideas. And Metallica is just trying to reinvent themselves too much. I say if we took all their money away, and slapped them in the face, we would get a killer album... Thoughts?

To be honest I doubt metallica are going to make much. Yeah they've gone back to their thrash roots at long last, but it's really just a bunch of old farts at play. Megadeth on the other hand have made an album of intelligent and technical metal that takes all the things that makes them great (Mainly Dave Mustaine) and streamlined the sound. The only criticism I have is Amerihkastan and A tout le monde.

The only problem I have with Megadeth's new album is that it sounds too generic. Nothing really grabs me by the balls y'know? Except for Sleepwalker and Washington is Next. But Metallica's new album I hope goes over well. I heard some of the stuff, not TOO bad, but they could have done better.

Call me close-minded, but I'm not going really bother with anything Metallica anymore. Really, their retirement could be the best news possible for me. I don't expect much of their new album, except maybe a rehash and blending of the material of the past decade, hopefully omitting the travesty that was St. Anger. That said, I'll pass. Their first ten years are canon, and they're dead to me after that. I've moved to different thrash bands.

Understandable... But no matter what they will never stop making music in their lifetimes. They are musicians, thats what they do. Though the band will crumble, James, Kirk, Lars, and Rob will continue to make music of their own.

Well, I wish they'd hurry up and do so before further sullying the hallowed name of Metallica. Kirk's the only one I think that would be worth anything afterward...he's still a good guitarist, if getting a bit long in the tooth. And I admit that James' voice is one of the all-time greats in metal.

I was dissappointed with the last Megadeth album...hope Metallica does better. I think the only salvagable members of Metallica are James and Rob. James is just too damn cool for anyone to hate on. Also your avi is kickass bro biggrin hahaha.

Metallica's album will be nothing but a disappointment. Just like Megadeth's. Both bands, along with Slayer and Anthrax, need to realise that their time is up. They were good, now they're not. Let's leave thrash to the up and coming thrash bands.
