She lay quietly by the softly moving water, the tips of her paws dipping into the medium-sized water hole. She had been basking in the early mornings rays, absorbing as much warmth as she groomed her coat, wasting time before departing on her exploration; She had ran out of excuses to procrastinate learning the area any longer.
She snuck away from home with a need for desperate change, she needed a fresh start,to make her own print on the world.
She was new to the area, and hadn't met another big cat such as herself, since she got here!
She HAD been staying nearer to the watering hole lately, hunting in the late hours of the afternoon. It was now or never.
She finnished up quickly, her slender pink tongue groomed the wet paw and, with one final look around, She decided to be a little more adventurous today.
Her steps were silent, muffling any sound of the jungle floor with her heavy foot pads. She trecked through the jungle, keeping an open eye for friend or foe.

Thalasso was traveling in a forest made path as he looked both ways as he sniffed the air. He was in need for a companion, and he couldn't stay in the hut for long, Chak was driving him up the wall with her bickering and biting of his ears. He couldn't deal with the little cub for a long period of time anymore. He walked to the rivers edge and sniffed the river as he didn't hear anyone around at the moment, so with no hesitation he jumped in as his blue fur blended into the water, his white head and upper body as he walked on the shallow water.

He splashed himself, getting his head wet as the water calmed him down, letting him get a control on life. His name 'Thalasso' meant water and thats what made him calm as he could feel the fish brushing up against him. "Play with me why don't you." He said in a calm tone he dived into the water as he felt with his mouth and paws trying to capture one of those slippery critters.

This is harder than I though.

She found herself by the waters edge once more, this time close to a river. Splashing ahead caught her attention; Her ears moved forward as she strained to hear the faintest words...Nothing. Yet something was making a sound...She could see a splash here and there...
She began to follow upstream, walking in the shallows as she neared the source of excitement; it was another b'alam! He had been camouflaged perfectly with his coat color.
She watched him perform; she was guessing he was trying to cach a fish, one of her favorite meals.
"It's easier if you stalk one to the shallows, then pounce!" She commented, a wide smile was etched on her face.

Thalasso perked his ears up as he heard another voice. He turned around to see another b'alam, just his luck to be in the forest and meeting someone new. "Yeah I know, I'm a bit... well.. unexperienced." He walked to the rivers edge, on the same side as the femme. He stepped up as his wet fur was dripping as he shook his fur off, leaving his fur a bit furry than usual.

He shook again, now getting it calmer as he looked out to her. "Hello, my name is Thalasso, and may I ask who you are?" He said calmly as a smile cut across his face as he saw her smile. A smile was a contagious infection, if you saw someone else smile, you couldn't help but smile as well.

A few drops splashed on her face, beading her coat with little water orbs; she didn't mind. "My names Kiarra," She began in response, "I'm new to the area...-" She was cut short by a large shadow that passed by the shallows;a big fish swam near, it could be the perfect oppertunity to give Thalasso a few tips, without being ignorant; males reacted oddly when hunting was involed...Everyone had their own way of doing things.
Her eyes locked onto the fish, following its every move with her gaze. She crouched down, careful to control her own shadow; the element of suprise played a huge part when hunting for fish and a large black shadow would be a dead giveaway for potential danger.
"Watch..." She whispered, dipping her tail off to the side in the water. It made a few ripples, somewhat causing the fish to pause. Her submerged paws were like pillars, strong and unmoving. She waited...Her patience would pay off; the fish began to advance towards them slowly.
"A hunter, being hunted,is the most vulnerable of all...The fish is focused entirely on it prey, and doesn't even realise the danger he's put himself in!" she cooed softly under her breath, barely above a whisper.
With a little grin, she winked at Thalasso and launched herself into the water.
Water exploded into the air, sending a cool mist all around. She looked back to Thalasso, a large fish gasping for air clenched tightly in her mouth.
She had been drenched completly, her coat seemed to shrink to half its size!
She walked towards the new male, the fish was trying It's best to escape.
When she reached the dry ground, she dropped the fish and shook all the water from her coat.
Placing a paw on their meal, she said "Dinner's on me...Unless you would like a try at it yourself!" She watched her new friend while the water dripped from her drenched face.

Thalasso watched her concentrate as she dipped her tail into the water. Clever. He exclaimed as the fish was now before his feet before he could blink, she was a good fisher but he wanted to do it himself.

"Thanks, I wanna try."

Thalasso went to the edge and mimicked her, putting the tip of his tail into the water as he saw a fish ease up on him as it stopped. He tried to stay silent but his patience was wearing out as he jumped in, the fish getting away. He looked around as he went under, he grabbed onto something with his mouth as he resurfaced. He smiled but only to have a stick in his mouth. His ears dropped down as he tried to stay calm.

He spit the stick out as he climbed up on the edge of the water. "Oh, well, I don't have patience like others." He was used to the food being there, now land creatures he could hunt down, but this big blue kitty didn't like to be a fisher, he loved to swim and bath, but not fishing. He smiled a sheepish grin as she looked at the stick he had caught. "Thanks though, I can hold off until I return home, or maybe find a land prey. You go ahead a eat."

She sat on her haunches, her paw weighing heavily on the fish. She watched in amusement when he resurfaced witht the stick, it reminded her so much of her first time fishing, "It comes with time and practice..Besides, that stick would make a great lunch" she teased as she looked down at the overly large fish, it was quite a big meal to consume. She never killed pointlessly, only to feed.
When the fish had stopped moving, she began to groom herself; the wetness made her fur stick, it was unbearable.
"So..Thalasso, tell me about yourself. How's life treating you?" She asked with clear interest.

Thalasso looked up at her. "Well, life's been alright. I live in the nearby village with my owner Tejas and my new little sister Chak. They bug me so much that I had to escape for a day." He started to lick his own paw and petting his head as he started to clean his fur. "What about you Kiarra? Hows life treating you as well?"

[ugh.. short..]

[S'ok smile ]

"A village...? Owner?!" She repeated questioningly, she had come straight from the wild and was yet to meet any mythical two legged hairless hunters. "Chak sounds like a wonderful name..." She said with a warm smile, her tail twitching slightly, "So far, Lifes been good." She added, "I decided a while back that I would move off to find my own place in this world, And now i finnally am!" She said softly, a bit of pride in her voice; everything had been going smoothly...something rather odd for Kiarra!

"Yeah the village isn't far away, and Tejas is really nice." He shook his head. "I guess Chak is an alright name, but she annoys be so." His little sister was always picking on him and making sure she was giving Thalasso grief. "That good, have you met anyone besides me in the jungle?" He had only met a few other b'alam. He continued to lick his fur, as much as he liked water, he didn't like to be weighted down by it.

He took a few steps back as he didn't want to get her weight, shaking his fur like he did before. He fluffed his fur and took a few steps towards her now, his fur settling down as his steps stopped.

She watched him, understanding the frustrations of dealing with water, "Thats the job of a sister, you know...Keeping our boys in-line.." She teased once more. "I'm yet to see this village...And I'm yet to see those creatures...I've only met a single other B'alam, besides you.." It was odd, she never thought of it before. Perhaps she just enjoyed being on her own?
"Well...I don't want to intrude and take-up your entire day. I'm sure you have things you must attend to?" She noted, her ears flickered at the sound of beating wings above; a bird had just ruffled it's feahters.

Thalasso shook his head, "I think a sister is programmed to do that." He chuckled a bit as he looked up to her. She was very pretty but he had just met her and vice versa. "I've met many other b'alam, but I've also been here longer than you, you find that many of are kind are nice. None but a couple have been stuck up."

Thalasso shook his head once more. "No, you are not a bother, I was actually hoping to meet someone new since I really never see anyone." He looked over to the water. "I actually just came for a swim and maybe we can do something together, I'm pretty bored by myself but maybe with some company it'll be better." He ended his statement with a smile.

"That sounds lovelly!" She said with excitement in her voice, She had been starved from socialization since the move; plus she might be able to explore the teritory a little more, to help adjust.
She liked this new b'alam, he was...Calm.
"I wouldn't mind doing something either... It would be better then the whole'lot of nothing I've been doing for the last few days!" She laughed, "So what's your favorite place around here? Maybe you could show it to me...Or we could do something else, Whatever you'd like" She finnished with a curious little smile, She remained in a relaxed pose. The sun was begining to warm It's rays, the copper-gold markings around her face shimmered like gold in the light.

Thalasso thought about the area for a second. "I favor the waterfalls and temple, those are my two favorite spots. I usually go by myself and watch the sunsets from there but you can tag along, maybe we'll find a taste treat on the way."

This day had made him a bit hungry, he had attempted to catch a fish but a stick wasn't too edible. He loved to hunt little rabbits, maybe even a deer, but a rabbit would be more easier and better to catch.

When he said waterfall, her ears strained to hear the faint rumble afar. Swiveling back and forth, her ears pin pointed which direction the waterfall was situated. She trotted up to to Thalasso, dropping the fish at his feet. “Here’s a little treat from me., But I’ll race you to the waterfall!” She teased with a big smile as she ran past him, bounding in her steps as she gained speed. As she neared the rushing water, the sound began to get louder; the crashing water against the rock sent ripples of sounds that sent her senses tingling.
The faint mist formed a hazy rainbow above the waters surface; it made her pause in her steps to gaze at the beautiful scene.
