OMFG! So today in my government class, we were talking about criminals on death row and if it is okay to kill people. This really got the class going, and being the Devil's advocate that I am proposed this: "Theoretically, if someone were to kill people before they were executed, would it be okay?"
This sparked an uproar.
Then someone said that it is never okay to kill people, be it for vengence or anything else. I quickly countered this with the infamous dialogue between Light and Ryuk about how people only say those things in public to maintain a facade, but if they were asked the same thing on the web how they would respond.
IT WAS GREAT!!

Wow, I wish I was there, that would have been a great debate to be in, I would have supported you the whole way, what was the genreal reaction to the statement?

People were generally shocked, including the teacher (but you could tell she enjoyed it). You see, I am a pretty decent student and I don't think people 1) expected it to be said and 2) expected me to say it. I love being the Devil's Advocate.
I don't think I made that many friends today, but you could tell that people felt the same way.

That's the topic going around here for speech and debate right now~
It's pretty interesting and really hard to chose a side once you look at all the research and statistics. It would've been fun to watch you guys go at it. 3nodding
