I've recently purchased myself a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo with nearly 1,500 pages. Oh yes long books are love. Especially when it involves Edmond Dantes!

Well, it depends, as long as the story grabs me and it has a really great plot, then of course. But as the other have said, if it drags on a bit and seems to fall apart, then I lose interest quickly. I imagine this can be apply to everyone else as well. ^^;;

I love long books, especially mystery, horror, and fantasy ones. My favorite long book was Inkspell.
I also like long series, like Cirque du Freak. 12 book was still not enough!

the_forgotten_thought yeah, ya gotta hate when a book drags. not to insult any of you guys who liked it, but there were some times when i thought that harry potter dragged on. sometimes i just felt like saying "get to the action!" i'm with the living tree. the longest book is a dictionary, but the longest GOOD book would be... probably only 650 tops. i've never read anything longer crying I agree with you. It's no use being long if it drags in the middle. plus, when you get to an exciting bit that is a cliffhanger where the lead character is in a life or death situation..if it's in the middle of the book, you pretty much know they are going to be all right..so it kinda spoils it..

Like the other posters said, as long as the story is good, and the description doesn't lag, then I love long books.

I love long books unless they practically end on page 158, and then the same thing happens all over again until the end of the book. eek I feel the same way about sequels. I refuse to read the second book unless I really loved the first book. (Usually I have to believe that it will be a continuation of the plot of the first. If I suspect that it will be the same story dragged out I refuse to read the book.)
