I thought the finalist items were all fairly boring, some unoriginal and even rule-breaking (multi-posed store items?!). It was kind of like they threw the entries into a hat and just picked whatever 10 that came out.
I give the Eyepiece points for going into a different style for Gaia (the tech/futuristic style is really unrepresented currently), but it's not something I plan on buying for my avatar ever.
I entered something for the current Holiday contest. I'm curious to see how this one goes.

oh, and about the multi-pose options, the administration explained in an announcement that even though they specified that no multi-pose entries would be chosen, they noticed a lot of contestants overlooked that rule and didn't want to exclude and reject good entries because of that reason. so, they stated that even if a multi-pose entry was chosen, the artist would have to choose a favorite pose because only one of the poses could be used. yeah, so even if a multi-pose entry was chosen, it wouldn't turn into a multi-pose item.
