We got a little light-blue budgie parakeet about a week ago, and named her (We think it's a her) Coconut Blue. She's a sweetie, and I'll post pictures if I ever get around to it. (Which is probably never.)
I'm trying to hand-tame her, and so far she's sat on my fingers for about a minute, but she mostly just sits there for a second or two before fluttering to a perch.
My sister and I were watching our Transformers Armada DVDs next to her cage, and I think she liked it, only she made angry noises whenever Starscream came on the screen. Probably jealous that his wings work and hers are clipped.
Discuss! My bird, your bird, his bird, her bird, any bird!

We have an 8+ year old budgie named Bluebelle. She's white with dark gray and black markings on her wings and a sky blue coloration on her lower belly. She's one of the most resiliant animals I've ever seen.
Bluebelle LOVES watching TV with us, especially if there's a guy (she loves men's voices) or music on. She's had characters whose voices she didn't like, and she squawks at them. xd
Side note: if you didn't know this already (you probably do), you can tell the gender of a budie by the color of their cere (the fleshy part where their nostrils are). Males get blue or purplish ceres, while females' are usually fleshy colored. However, a female's can chagne colors a few times before they're fully mature, so it might take a veterinarian's opinion or some more time to know for certain.

She sounds cool-looking. And regarding gender, that only really works with budgies at least a year old. Coconut's is purple, but so were all the others she was with when we got her, so they're probably mostly young birds from the same shipment.
Yeah, it's probably his voice that she's got a problem with. I can see how it would bother her.

Hmm. Our old vet was able to tell her gender after a few months, but she was a small animal, particularly bird, specialist. It's probably really different for normal vets, who typically specialize in larger animals like dogs and cats. And, like I said, lots of girls have cere color changes.

Heh. I have a love-bird that is a little spoiled. He was hand fed but then they got new baby {I mean like 3 month old} love birds so they had to stop hand-feeding him so he is biting now. To bad... nobody loves him except me crying . He is 1 year and 3 months old. Oh jeez I forgot his name is Pidgey! I sometimes like to call him Hufflepuff {the name of my fave harry potter school/team}. I have a picture of Pidgey on my profile. Yah that's about it.

I was hand feeding some love birds at school, they were super sweet. Bummer they stopped hand feeding him. ]:
Anyways, I was thinking about getting a bird. Cockatiel in particular, but a parakeet would be nice to. Mind me asking where you got your budgie? I heard that pet store budgies can be very difficult to train, but I don't have any breeders remotely near me. o:
