The city hardly ever changed. At least, they weren't changes that occurred in nature. The cold gray concrete of the buildings betrayed nothing of the seasons, and never would. He imagined that if it never snowed, if it no longer got cold come winter, the city dwellers might very well forget such a thing ever existed. Seasons in the city were run by ornaments and tradition- this was what he had observed so far. From across the street, he watched as the department store took down its Halloween display and began to inflate a latex turkey. That turkey announced the death of many things, and the smell of a home-cooked feast on an upcoming date.

He'd been watching the displays up themselves until the people had obscured. These people were here to watch him. There was little wonder to it in the scorpion's mind. He was, after all, standing on the ledge of a quaint little restaurant across the street, and had been for quite some time. Some were humanitarians, he supposed, come to beg him not to jump, the others spectators that was counting on the masked boy to take a dive so they could go home and feel better about their own lives. Not that he was planning to do anything of the sort, mind you. If it was his choice, he wouldn't have the attention, though he knew it wasn't quite possible to avoid it with his actions.

"At least," said Redd, "keep people from bitching at me about what a shitty parent I am. It's not my fault if my kid refuses to play it safe. I told you better."

That was exactly what he had attempted to do- it was why that he was wearing a mask even after Halloween had passed. Between his long strands of white hair arched two stubby red horns, glassy with evidence of their cheap plastic material. The face itself was a warped impish little sneer, with empty black eyes and obnoxiously large tusks. A young devil, it seemed. He was idly wondering what drew the crowd more. He would need to move on soon, most likely, before the police arranged for someone to come and talk to him, but for now Kathris enjoyed his high position. Spreading his arms slowly, the boy let himself tip forward, rousing a great many gasps from below. At the last moment, however, when he was almost perpendicular to the wall upon which he stood, he stopped.

There was a fierce pressure at his lower back that he ignored, knowing it was necessary for his barbed tail to take the weight of his body if he wanted to feel his body panic and pump adrenaline like it was now. It was a dizzying feeling, and made all the small faces below blur into one for one single, blissful moment. Gotcha, he thought quietly to himself, smiling invisibly behind his gruesome mask.

The cool autumn winds would make a normal person shiver but under his thick fur coat Cheka felt only a plesant breeze. He was perched taking the greatest amount of concentration to stay invisible watching a kid attempting to take his life.

The only reason he watched was because he found it interesting. His large golden eyes eye'd the kid curiously as the scorpian boy didn't fall to his death. He was perched on a ledge himself just outside of a window, one of the many on the side of the building. He wasn't far from the other kid. After spotting him from down below he took great pains to scale the wall on the far side for the kid wouldn't see him. If there was one think he took great pleasure in it was making dramatic entrances.

First he let his body reveal itself form its invisibility leaving just the head left. Instead you say only a mouth smiling slyly.

"So ...tell me daredevil...what do you hope to accomplish by doing this? An interesting sound when you plummet to the ground?" He asked beofre his head finally joined the rest of his body.

He was at peace, and yet technically he was in total panic. Yellow eyes widened invisibly at the sound of a voice so near, but he only turned his head. Relaxing his body or moving unnecessarily meant a plummet into the pavement far below and, contrary to what it may have seemed, Kathris was not keen on the thought of breaking any limbs today. A stunt like this would be hardly worth the damage. With curious amazement that was well shadowed by his mask, he observed as the headless mouth bobbed and grinned, focusing on the white teeth more than he was the words spilling from them.

"Where did you come from?" Was the question, bemusement betrayed in his tone. Glancing towards the scene below again, he considered, then shifted his weight carefully into one of the legs braced against the edge still. With a motion that seemed more casual than it was slow, one booted foot slid back onto the roof and dug its toe into the small barrier much like that crimson tail was. The next motion was a shift of weight and a pull of both tail and foot, flipping the boy right side up again, safe on the surface on the roof. Now the daredevil considered Cheka, canting his head as he composed himself. Then he gave a soft snort, as if just now getting the words issued to him, dismissing the first question easily. That sounded too cumbersome, explaining a motive. It'd ruin the moment. Instead he implored, "Did you already have a prediction?"

Of what sound his body would have made hitting the ground, that was. Well, you certainly didn't see a lot of fur-clad people wandering around these days. A few, maybe. He'd never seen a purple one, though, nor had he seen one that could slip their faces in and out of reality. Kathris wasn't too much for books yet, so while he was almost sure the other was familiar, he could not trace the origins of the other right away.

His golden eyes watched the white haired youth with a gaze that borderlined preditory hunger. Now that the scorpian boy was now back safely on the rooftop he wondered if he should join him. Though in truth he enjoyed the advantage of being out of hitting range whlie he taunted people.

"I am neither here nor there...I am not anywhere..." he teased as his body once again went invisible. He didn't have much time. And as much as he enjoyed the idea of sitting on the ledge being out of harms reach it also meant the boy could leave him there whenever he wanted to.

It wasn't hard for him, his claws found cracks in the brick wall as he climbed up, though he wasn't aware that his tail was still ...visible. By the time he managed the roof his sat down and reappeared looking smug till he noticed that his tail....was already visible.

Dammit it all...way to ruin a perfect entrance. "Only reason why i can think of to why someone would hang from a roof is to tempt fate. I cannot predict the future....but i would taunt death either. He is too eager to collect new souls." The chesire cat cautioned though his chuckling was not friendly.

There was a singular twitch of that long, segmented tail as the cat spoke what he decided was nonsense. If it was anything Cheka should avoid first and foremost, it would be that particular appendage. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on which way you looked at it), the scorpion seemed unperturbed, at least as far as his body language went. For someone who had almost fallen off a roof, he seemed surprisingly loose, transferring weight from one foot to another without any sign of nervousness. He was observing, even when he seemed disinterested, watching the fluffy striped tail as it climbed the wall.

When the other boy reappeared, there was a soft snort from Kathris. "It's not a bad guess." He offered, and nothing more. Not a hint, not a sliver of feeling as to betray whether or not Cheka was wrong. The final comment got a tilt of his head, and the boy rolled his shoulders. "What do you know about death? Not a thing if you haven't touched it, and that goes with taunting it." He sounded rather cocky at that, his own yellow eyes watching the other slyly through the plastic sockets. But with that, he glanced to the crowd below, and turned himself away to walk towards the back of the roof, feeling no obligation to stick around with the cat while police cars eased their way down the street. He did wonder if he had put some curiosity within the other, though.

Now that this boy wasn't dangling Cheka was finding his kinda boring. His tail swished from his idle movement. Blinking he found himself growing stiff the hair on the back of his neck rising slightly. How dare this..this BOY judge him.

"I know him better than you I bet." he replied casually instead of getting angry, looking at his claw like nails. He pried his gaze away to look at where the scorpian boy was gazing. Police? they always ruined his fun. His ears flicked forward in surprise as he suddenly found himself alone and the other kid was retreating.

Standing up quickly he hurried after him in a huff. If there was one thing he hated it was being ignored. He watched the scorpian tail move dipping with the others movements. First the boy with the tail on fire and now a kid with a scorpian tail. He was smart enough at least not to try and catch this one...it was most likely poisonous.
