"Nooo Luka." Shuhei sighed as he smacked his forehead. "You're supposed to throw the ball back." Running his fingers through his bleached hair he walked back down the beach to his Ravaen charge and took the ball from him. "okay, you stay here."
Luka watched him with a smirk and nodded. "Okay." he said floating aimlessly and waiting for Shuhei to walk away and throw the ball back to him.
Shuhei took a deep breath and pitched the ball back over the sand to him. Luka raised his hand to catch, looked up and missed, the ball bounced off his head and landed in the sand with a thud.
Shuhei said nothing. Simply pulled a cigarette out and lit it. "Okay, maybe we'll just make sandcastles", he muttered, taking a drag.

This was always an inspirational place. There was always so much force by the water, calmly lapping waves against the sand or roaring surf crashing down to the land. Now that the busy season was over, Bauta had taken a few days off to enjoy the seaside before returning to work.
The harpy held his wingtips off the ground, careful that they wouldn't drag across the sand. It was a beautiful day and the beach was full of people enjoying the sunshine.
Hm? A thud by his foot caught his attention and he bent, picking up the ball and brushing away the sand. He looked around for the owner, picking out a young man and a...well...floating companion. Kids these days. He walked careful across the sand towards them, holding out the ball.
"Is this yours?"

Shuhei looked up at the strange person who approached them and exhaled a small trail of smoke to the sky. "Yes, thanks." He smiled, taking the ball from him. "Einstine here is having trouble learning the meaning of the game catch."
Luka gave the new person an innocent smile and held out a hand. "My name's Luka." He grinned broadly.

Hmm...it seemed the floating creature could speak. It wasn't a being he recognized, but he wasn't an expert in such things. He smiled warmly, taking the boy's hand and bowing ever so slightly. The brown, mottled wings rustled faintly behind him as he moved.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, master Luka. Do not be so worried. I am not very good at catch myself. It seems to be a skill that requires practice and patience." the elder man gave Shuhei a meaningful look.
"I am Bauta Moretti. And you sir?" he said, voice deep and rich as carmel. "I believe I have missed your name."

Shuhei watched Luka greet the man and smirked. Rollinghis eyes a little at the patience jibe. He sounded like his father. "My name is Shuhei Gennai." He said, bowing respectfully and placing his cigarette back in his mouth. "And maybe you are right. Maybe Ravaen's aren't made for catch.
Luka smiled at the man and fixed his eyes on his wings. They were rather magnificent. "I like your wings." he said, grinning and looking to Shuhei. "Shu don't have wings."

"I am pleased to meet you as well, master Gennai." Bauta gave the younger man a small bow. "Raevan?" he paused, looking Luka over from the tips of his horns to the wispy ribbons beneath him. "Hm...you don't look much like a bird to me."
He shifted a bit, spreading his wings behind him. Bauta had never been a vain man, but his meticulously groomed feathers were a special source of pride for him. A lasting echo of his father, no doubt. "Thank you very much, young master. Everyone in my family has them, we are harpies."
The man mirrored Luka's smile. "Your friend may not have wings, but I will bet he is better than the both of us at catch. Is he teaching you to play?"
