i completely agree. The human imagination can be much more horror filled and gruesome then any film could ever show. And the book was a much more delightful read then the film, although the music in the film was quite delightful.

I've got to agree, the book was great. I've got to admit, though, that I'm not all that good at visualizing scale, and the movie was good for that. Also, seeing things somehow makes my adrenaline spike more than just reading about them.

Both. I enjoy reading because it has more details. I enjoy the movie also. I like to compare whom I think did a better job. The actor or the writer.

I enjoy reading the book. My imagination is not as great or as gory as anything I see in the movie. When I read a good book, I get so involved in the storyline that I hate to put the book down. I can't wait to turn the page to see how they get out of the fix their in.

Oh, how that movie terrified me as a child! Jurassic park is one of my favorite movies, and I did enjoy the book as well. Normally, I ridicule and pick apart movies based on books, but I really liked this one. [to any Law and Order fans: Anyone notice B.D. Wong as a scientist in the lab? squee!]

I actually like the movie better. I was surprised at the differences between them though and that's sometimes a good thing, I guess.

I like reading the book better. But if they're going for the scare factor, the movie always wins. Hands down. Reading doesn't scare me or get my adrenaline pumping like a movie does.

Anyone ever compare the second book and movie?

The movie, definitely. Every time I sit down and try to read Michael Crichton's work, I just facepalm. I prefer my sci-fi to be sound on the scientific end.
