What I remember of the play:
[act 1 scene 1 and 2]
Dottie Coburn is suppossed to be living in an apartment with just Marge Benson and Kate Ault. But, there are 3 other guys living in the apartment: George Bodell, Norman Reese, and Tony Foster. All 6 people are actors. Dottie's mother comes for a visit and she doesn't know about the boys. The boys try to leave(at the time only Norman and Tony were there since George left earlier in frustration) so they pack their things and head out. Dottie's mother arrives and the girls are being polite since they don't want her to make Dottie leave. They give her a tour of the house and while they are in the other room, George walks in. He starts a bath and then goes to the bedroom to grab some clothes. Mrs. Coburn, Dottie, Kate, and Marge all walk in and Mrs. Coburn is quite satified but then George shouts asking where his things were(since the guys packed everything) and then comes barging out(in his underwear) and Mrs. Coburnis wanting to know who he is. Norman and Tony come back(wearing white suits) saying that George is crazy and they take him away. Mrs. Coburn says that Dottie isn't safe there but Kate and Marge tell her that Mr. Kenny(the producer who lives downstairs) is a friend and that he wil protect them. Then Mr. Kenny comes in and starts complaining about water coming down into his kitchen(since George left the water in the tub on). Mrs. Coburn relizes that they lied to her and tells Dottie that she will come back on Monday to take her to Boston(they are currently in New York).

[act 2]
The 6 people are all back and they are performing a play(Murder She Wrote). Mr. Kenny comes in asking for flour. They talk to him and convince him to come back and see them perform. He agrees. The 6 people try to rehearse but Marge starts laughing. Norman tells her not to but she said she can't since the corpse is a pillow. They then wonder where they could get someone to be a corpse before Mr. Kenny comes. Just then Muriel Foster(a friend of Mrs. Coburn) come in. The convince her to play their corpse. Then Mr. Kenny comes before they could rehearse. They perform it anyways but Muriel complains about being the corpse and how she is thirsty. Kate goes to get her something to drink and that knocked her out. They then perform again when the landlady, Mrs. Garnet, comes in. They make her sit down and watch the play so they won't get anymore disturbances. They then go again but when Marge screams, Norman doesn't come in. She screams again but still nothing. They go to see whats up and Norman is with two police officers. They are wanting to know why there was screaming. They say its because Marge saw the corpse and that cause the police to be all "what?!" and then they see Murial, passed out with a fake knife "through her". They start questioning again and then the first policeofficer sees that there is ketchup all over Muriel and then notices that the knife is toatally fake. They say that they have made a mistake and start to leave when Mr. Kenny goes to Muriel and actually thinks that she might be dead. He calls them back in and they start questioning again. Norman then acts like he was the person who killed her and stuff. Then Muriel wakes up and goes to the bathroom and the police noticed that she was gone. They start questioning again and then Muriel comes out. They ask her who is she and she says she is dead. Then Norman finds a way to make the officers see them perform the play.

[act 3]
The 6 people are waking up. Mr. Kenny comes and they discuss actually having them officially perform the play. The 3 guys go with him to grab some food since George convinced him to make his food in their kitchen since he accidently ruined his. After they leave Mrs. Coburn comes. SHe is wanting to know where Muriel was. Muriel comes out of the bathroom and says what happened the previous night(only she over exaggerates some parts). There is a knock on the door and Muriel says that it is the police coming back. It turns out that it was only Mrs. Garnet. Mrs. Coburn comes out of her hiding spot and tells Muriel that she is crazy. She is about to leave when the guys come in. She recognizes them and starts wanting to know whats going on. She finds out that they have been living there all along and tells Dottie that she is leaving. Norman steps up and says that she will not leave. Mrs. Coburn then gets mad and leaves.
