What are your thoughts about this year's Halloween event on Gaia?
Also, since the Gaia Cash Shop has been introduced during this event, what do you think about this Shop?
Additionally, the shop brings a completely new type of item to Gaia: Evolving...whatsoever, nobody knows yet. rolleyes Can you remember the old times when Gaia was compared to Neopets and alike? What do you think now?
Com'on guys, keep this guild alive. crying If you don't, I'll talk to myself then. xd

Com'on guys, keep this guild alive. crying If you don't, I'll talk to myself then. xd Well I'm happy with the Gaia cash, since I have 2525 of it, thanks to my best friend. xP I kinda like the idea of having more options than just the donation items. ...at the same time I feel like Gaia is just trying to suck more money out of us. ...which I suppose is okay. xP I hope the store comes out soon. O_o; As for the evolving item, I don't know what to make of it. Can it evolve differently based upon what you do? Does it evolve and eventually stop evolving? Does it keep going? Will it just be an item? Will it play a role in the battle system or any sort of game? I really just have no idea what to expect from it. >.< I just hope that it's something interesting. :B ...and the Halloween event? I love it. I think it may very well be the best event yet. :O Though I have to say shooting zombies and such was pretty fun too... Anyway, I like the new rage meter. I've only use the accuracy one, but having options is cool. xP Getting candy quicker is also a nice thing. It doesn't take all that long to get 2 sets. Another great Gaia event. *wants the guild alive* Just because GEN is obsolete doesn't mean that the GENers can't still hang around and discuss things. Come back people! gonk xp Ya'll are the awesomest people on Gaia that I know of. ;.;

I became top-level slayer/vampire first day, so now I'm beefing up my mules. The items are quite ok, though ToTing is infinitely more boring than any other year for some reason.
Cash thoughts: I'm giving a friend $20 so he can paypal it into cash for me. razz I really do like the items, and I can keep extra cash for other months and get a letter per month without having to go through it again. :3

Come back people! gonk xp Ya'll are the awesomest people on Gaia that I know of. ;.; first i need to say gen is not obsolete. yes it may be almost useless as a price guide because of the new marketplace but the gen guide is alspo the only well organized list of every item that has been releasedd in chronological order. my thoughts on the halloween event this year. bad move gaia. by making it so people can get a box every 10 min gaia has made it so there are so m any of each item that they are nearly worthless and it will take them alot longer to go up in price (i am currently working on my 11th set now. ok the cash shop. it is just what everyone thinks. a way for them to squeez every penny out of the gaians. the evolvin items are nice but i fear what they might be heading too by releasing evolving items. and as for the battle system it looks good but again i fear where gaia might be heading ......ignore my signature....i need to change it back.........i am putting up my sig for the idiots guide to the tos. (work in progress...)

Yeah I know. Event items = waaay too easy to get. eek I wasn't even on that much and I think I have about 8 sets. I also have two full human slayer sets and three vamp sets.
I think they shouldn't have implemented the easy side switching thing. I loved having my friends help me to get the skin right at the beginning. (though two or three of my four mules are vampy)

I got all of the vampire items and human items, which took a while. I quickly got an opened and closed set and stopped getting bags after that. I don't need that stuff cluttering my inventory. xP Oh, and I simply used 25 of my Gaia Cash to get the clip. Now I have exactly 2500 left. :B

Mmm, I'm having a friend buy me $20 worth of cash. I'll buy the 'commons' in the cash store with gold, but I like the idea of buying a letter a month to set aside. 3nodding (has been doing it all year with gold, but is running low)
OHOH: Evolving Fausto = win. biggrin

As for the recent Halloween Event, I have to agree: it' was one of the more interesting events. I kinda disliked past events where you were able to get everything in a couple of hours and multiple times, which made these items rather worthless. Well, actually the same still counts for this year's Jack Bags and I don't know if it was the best idea to decrease the time periods between each candy. I mean, while I was playing the Human/Vampire Hunting I also randomly collected some candy and at the end of the second event day I already had more sets than I actually wanted, which forced me to not collect any more candies for the remaining event time. No challenge, thus no fun.
Instead, I liked the way the Human/Vampire reward math worked. You really needed to put some work into it and you also were able to get only one of each...per account. Anyways, this reminded me of the still best event item ever: the Labcoats. Getting labcoats really was a hard work and not everyone was able to hoard them or even get their hands on one, which made this item kinda special...although it looks sh*tty. whee
I do not mean that I want valuable event items out of every event so I can make some decent profit. I just think that event items, thus limited items, should actually be like they're limited, thus kinda special. Instead, they seem to be as common as shop items. That's why I like the Ghost Cape and the Bat: they are very special because only those got them who really put some work into the event. Here you can actually say "Look, I wasted a lot of hours on a virtual event and that's my reward". surprised For items like the Jack Bags your answer to this is "Oh, nice. Well, I have 20 of them and if I invest 10k on the market, I'll have another 30 of them". sweatdrop
But to be honest, making a new post for every attack really sucked. Conversations in the event forums were senseless since you had to look through tons of attack posts to find one single normal post...Well, event forums always sucked, but this time the forums where just a battlefield of automated messages.
Whatever, next topic: The Gaia Cash Shop reminds me of many online RPGs where you're also able to buy less or more special items by paying real money. This is actually one of the most effective money sucking tactics I've ever seen on the internet. Instead of paying a lot of gold for, let's say, Fausto's Bottle, you simply pay such a minor price like $5 is. You save a lot of time and a lot of gold which can be wasted for other stuff. This brings one major problem for the rest of the community (at least that's what I've seen on online RPGs which also have such shops). People who don't want to pay any real money for such items really have to spend a lot of gold. For them, getting a Fausto's Bottle real is a big thing. On the other side, people who're willing to pay real money for this bottle don't feel that special for this item. I mean, they can get one in a couple of minutes without spending any virtual work into it. So, those people have a big advantage: they can exploit the big demand and make a lot of profit out of it. At the end, we have one player who payed hard earned 40k for one bottle and is now blank. And then we have the other player who just earned 40k without doing anything special in Gaia's world. In worst cases, this player does this multiple times and suddenly has 500k out of nothing. Thís player became one rich gaian without doing anything. The other player worked his a** off and is left blank at the end.
Of course, you may say something like that already existed when there were only MCs for sale. But the more variety there is, the greater the exploit results are. And the more Cash Shop Items will be added in the future, the more frustrating it'll become. I can already see people who spend more real money on Gaia than ever, just because they can't resist the great winnings they can make with such a big variety and the work they don't have to put into it. And I can also see people who're more frustrated than before when they realize how much hard work they have to put into one of such items while others get them in no time...and there're so many cash shop items they want. Some of them will fall into this trap and pay real money on Gaia although they never wanted to.
That's the big hoax of such a shop. I've seen it a lot of times and it always turned out into this. The rich ones become richer and the poor ones poorer. The distance between these two sides will become greater than ever and in the end Gaia will be like every other online RPG I've visited:
Free to play for everyone, but pay if you want to play like everyone else.
I see the point why Gaia made such a shop. It's effective and sucks a lot of money which is important and which I respect. But it can also cause more damage to the economy than expected.
To bring this post to an end, I'll talk about evolving items at another time. whee

Talking about evolving items:
I thought that the Fausto would evolve last, being the more expensive item, but now, I see it as a great way for Gaia to earn more money on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc gen bottles. I wonder when it will stop? :O
I purchased mine in gold (about 18k) about a week ago, so I guess I'm pretty set for the future Fausto installments, though the previous evolution glitch thing is annoying.
