Okay, so. My best friend has always told me I should go into Psychology, so I decided that it might be interesting to take Introductory to Psychology just to see what the class is about.

Yeah, well, it's horrible. :/

First we learned the history. Then we learned about the brain stem and color vision. Both of them bored me immensely. We had two midterms following every two chapters. The first one, I got a low C. Not horrible, but not great.

For the second one, my teacher told our class the average dropped 15%. Of course, everyone was like OMFG. According to her, chapters 3 and 4 are the hardest and she finds a lot of students do poorly on it.

Yep, that's right. An "F".

So I'm now either failing that class or very close to it. Way to make my day a cheerful one. But that's not the end of it.

In our class, we can get up to five bonus points by participating in experiments (just surveys and stuff). Well, the problem is 90% of those experiemnts call for JUST guys, and it's been that way all semester. How the hell am I supposed to get my bonus points?!

And even worse, my brother takes the same course as I do (he signed up after I did, otherwise I never would have taken it). He always gets better grades than I do. Last time, he told my mom what he got on the midterm, so of course she asked me, and then she yelled at me when she found out what I got.

crying Advice, suggestions, and consolation very much welcomed. What is it I can get a B in English with only a couple hours work but get an F in Psychology after skimming the chapter and attending the lectures?

Awwwwwww. *Hug* We all have something we suck at, so don't feel too bad. heart

I do have some advice, as my mom took pyschology and I used to read her book. Make sure to fully read and understand what's going on. They're so full of convuluted paragraphs and such that it's really easy to get confused, even when you're great at English and understand the words just fine.

Also, it's hard to score good no matter what the subject if you're not interested. You've gotta pretend it's something you care about, so you go into it really ready to learn rather than resisiting. Just think; though you don't like it, you'll have that knowledge anyway should you need it.
