Scarlett sat on the steps of her trailer with a cigarette at hand. Just because she was slowly but surely giving up drinking, didn’t mean Scarlett had to ‘totally’ renounce her smoking habits. Smoking for Scarlett was a lifestyle. Sure it reassured her, but smoking was like putting on fresh underwear in the morning…in ‘some cases’ she just needed it. Scarlett wore a heavy silver fox jacket over her peacock costume. In reality, she looked rather comedic just sitting there with her white feathered tail hanging off the sides of the steps. Whatever, it was cold.
She starred of into the distance with no definite purpose. Yet, Scarlett's concentration would be diverted when someone passed by; she would smile and nod to acknowledge their presence, but more often than not, just took no notice of them. Time was passing by sluggishly. It was as if everything was moving all around Scarlett, but she was just stuck there sucking on her cigarette. In a sense, she anticipated something exciting to happen. But, then the other half of Scarlett hoped her cigarette would never end.

Dieter marched around, legs slightly bowlegged and tilting his hat at every passing lady. The words "Howdy" and "Howdoya Do" passed from his already pre-occupied lips that were chewing neurotically at a toothpick. Oh, he was a cowboy alright. A real serious cowboy.
He wandered back onto the cirque site, perhaps he could round up a couple of people to go back in with him and enjoy the festivities. He wandered around, looking at some of the chipped red paint on the outside of some of the trailers. Red... red... Scarlett! It suddenly dawned on him that it'd been a while since he'd seen her. Maybe she'd like to join!
His bowlegged walk quickened as he headed over to her trailer, when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. The toothpick in his mouth quickly fell out as his jaw dropped and eyes widened. Maybe it was the sweet smell in the air, or the lighting. But there seemed to be something different about her this evening. ... Aside from the costume.
Quickly, he straightened his back and held his chin high. He walked over to her, putting his foot up on a step and flashed a devilish smile. "Well, Howdy there."
