Actually, it can be taken up to 5 days after unprotected sex. The sooner, the more effective however.
Well, I suppose technically it
can be taken any time, even three weeks after the encounter.
xp However, it is
supposed to be taken within 72 hours. The sooner, the better. Taking it within 24 hours is ideal.
"If it is taken within 3 days (72 hours) after unprotected sex, it will decrease the chance that you will get pregnant by up to 89%. That means 7 out of every 8 women who would have gotten pregnant will not get pregnant. And Plan B® works even better if you take it within the first 24 hours after unprotected sex."

But that's not what I meant exactly. I didn't take it 2 weeks late already. The doctor said I'm not pregnant, and gave me the pill the 3rd day to take. I was already a week late when this took place.
All I'm saying is I still haven't got my period, and it's about 2 weeks late already. Which I just think is odd.

There are many reason periods might be late.
People respond to Plan B differently. Some people experience bleeding soon after taking the medication, others do not.
Plan B is not 100% effective even if taken within the three days. So even though you took Plan B, you still could be pregnant.
If you were one week late at the time you started Plan B and were sexually active before that, you could have already been pregnant when you started the Plan B. If you are already pregnant, Plan B will not work. If you were only one week late at the time that you started Plan B, that would be too soon for you to show up on many pregnancy tests.
If you're concerned, try taking a home pregnancy test or visiting your ob-gyn again.
