Sigh.
SIGH.
NEGI. Okay, okay, first off, I need to address this. NO. NOT TAANG. IS. NOT. TAANG. NO. NO. NO. Okay, she said 'FRIENDSHIP'. Frieeeeeeeeeendship. FRIENDLY. No romance. NO ROMANCE. And she was holding hands with KATARA, so to say that Taang is likely is to say that Totara is likely. Mmkay?! So, no, don't even go there. And don't GIVE me that bullshit about Aang reached for her hand so he likes her. Anyone who's been half-awake for one freakin' episode can see that Aang is in love with Katara. So, NO, okay?
Sigh. Moving on.
Overall I thought it was pretty dull. I mean, yay backstory, but seriously, I want another episode.
URSA TTLY GAVE HIM THE SCROLL, AMIRITE? As soon as I saw the flitting figure I was like, "URSA URSA URSA". Seriously, it's like the 3rd line of my notes. (1st line: Eeee, Iroh in preview. 2nd line: Subtle, Roku, JEEZ.) And also, WUDAFUX his great-grandpa on his mom's side is Roku?! Well, I guess that makes sense, as Ursa isn't totally batshit crazy like the rest of the damn family (excluding Iroh). But apparently backstabbing runs in his father's family. Let's see: Sozin backstabbed Roku, Ozai backstabbed Iroh, Zuko backstabbed Iroh, Azula backstabbed Zuko... with the exception of Azulon, Iroh, Ursa, and the various wives (which we're still technically not sure about), they're all BACKSTABBING JERKS.
Hm... what else...
LAWL MY BFF SOZIN. Heeheehee.
I was really really hoping for a Pakku/Kana reference in the Water Tribes, but even if Kana left right at the eradication of the Airbenders, she wouldn't have been born yet.
Iroh and the crown. Mmkay. Here's my opinion. Iroh's been keeping it with him. Where? I don't ******** know where, is that relevant? Anyways. HE was the crown prince, and he didn't come home before Ozai yoinked the throne. So, theoretically, he'd still have it.
But, wait... hm. Did Roku grab the crown before he fled? I remember it dropping to the floor... then, nothing else until Iroh pulled it out of the freakin' wall. Curious.
Cute baby Aang. :3
The Avatar State is ACTIVE! Woo! I was like, "So... is he not able to access it anymore, or what?" But, yay, it liiiives! >D Sorry to think like Sokka, but now they have an even GREATER advantage!
Zuko blinks a lot when he's reading. Did anyone else notice this?
Funniest line of the episode: "It's my wedding, have a cookie!"
Other notes: Full moon. Interessant.
Okay, so overall, some good back story, some good fodder for Zuko's character development, but overall not a great episode.

Butterfly Nebula NEGI. Okay, okay, first off, I need to address this. NO. NOT TAANG. IS. NOT. TAANG. NO. NO. NO. Okay, she said 'FRIENDSHIP'. Frieeeeeeeeeendship. FRIENDLY. No romance. NO ROMANCE. Man, mentioned in the first paragraph. Very well then. ... ... ... Can I still delude myself to recover from Sokka's Master? Favorite moments of the episode were definitely the quote "Have a cookie." and the look on Zuko's face when it was revealed he was related to Roku. It was great having some background story on a few characters but... yeah, that kinda felt like that was it. If anything it might help Zuko realize that he needs to go over to the other side sometime soon. Zuko turning out to be a descendant of Roku shocked me at first but then it was followed by "Well, that's kinda interesting but is that it?" I can't say whether I thought it was Ursa or not. I was watching the episode on youtube so the quality of the scene wasn't very clear. On a random note: Did anyone else think Roku's wife sounded like Azula? And finally... YEAH, we finally had a chance to hear Iroh talk.

...As long as you admit that I'm right. D< But, whatever, as long as you don't die... Haha, it was kinda funny, right after the episode ended, I yelled, "WHAT?! NO. ******** NO. AUUUUUGH, NEGI'S GONNA BE INSUFFERABLE," stormed downstairs, hopped on the computer, and came on here to vent.
I don't remember his look 'cause I was going, "LOLWHUT!" and writing madly. I need to download it and watch it again. -_-; But yeah, the 'It's my wedding, have a cookie' made me giggle.
Mm, yeah. I definitely agree that this will help Zuko see that he CAN be good. He's kind of narrow-minded and insane about this sort of thing, but if he realizes that he is a descendant, DIRECT descendant, of the Avatar, then he can change the world for the better. But, yeah, like you said, nothing else about this episode was particularly awesome. Gawd, I'm glad SOMEONE agrees with me instead of just foaming over the plot twist...
IT WAS TTLY URSA. I am so totally convinced. Like, at first, I was like, "Hahaha yeah it's Ursa," but then when the whole Roku thing was revealed I was like, "Goddamn it IS Ursa!" I need to go and pause it on the flitting figure. *adds to 'To Do When 306 is Downloaded' list*
I can't remember her voice, except for the fact than it was surprisingly deep... I was expecting this airy voice. I remember that I was like, "Huh, she looks like Katara..." And I was considering using that as ammo against the Taangers who claim that Ummi looks like Toph so therefore Aang will love her. First off, WTF NO SHE DOESN'T! Secondly, Roku is closer to Aang than Kuruk, way WAY closer, so it makes sense that he'd go for someone more like Roku's wife.
Greg Baldwin bugs the crap outta me. I mean... sigh. Okay, I'll give him props, he's doing a fantastic job, but... IT'S JUST NOT MAKO. There's such a difference... well, not SUCH a difference, but to a crazy person like me there is.

I really, really liked this episode. I don't know why, but I dig the past stuff and the Aang and Zuko paralellism.
When Aang and Zuko both got their messages, for a second I had this wild idea that maybe they'd both be hearing the story from the same person. xd
Roku = totally cool and such a klutz. Sozin = JERKFACE. scream
I totally didn't expect that... Roku's Zuzu's great (great?) grandfather on his mummy's side? Does that mean he's somehow spiritually related to Aang? I'm confused.
Funniest Moment: Ditto. "It's my wedding, have a cookie!" Favorite Scene: When Iroh speaks to Zuko. Least Favorite Scene: "Do they have toilets in the spirit world?" That was totally disgusting and unnecessary.

Butterfly Nebula ...As long as you admit that I'm right. HOORAY! Had it been only Aang and Toph holding hands and no one else joined in, then I would be cheering a little more. When Katara joined in, then Sokka, it kinda decreased the possible Taang moment. Either that or it would mean, like you said, Totara and/or Katakka..... or possibly Sototang (Hey, I think I came up with a new shipping) Now if you'll excuse me... *Attempts to readjust scene so it leans toward Taang but tries not to make it sound like a bad fanfic* Butterfly Nebula I can't remember her voice, except for the fact than it was surprisingly deep... Just so you can put your guard down, I too thought she looked like Katara especially in the first scene we see her in. I'm not too happy with the idea but hey, that's what I saw. Butterfly Nebula Greg Baldwin bugs the crap outta me. I mean... sigh. Okay, I'll give him props, he's doing a fantastic job, but... IT'S JUST NOT MAKO. There's such a difference... well, not SUCH a difference, but to a crazy person like me there is. Greg Baldwin doesn't bug me but I could tell there was a slight difference in his voice from Mako. It's something like the accent on his syllables is a little off from Mako's. I'll survive though. I'll adjust to it like I did when Sailor Moon changed their VAs (except for Usagi's. Man, that took effort to adjust to) And I realized something that should have been obvious at first. If Zuko is a direct descendant of Roku, then so is Azula (obviously).

Mage Negi And I realized something that should have been obvious at first. If Zuko is a direct descendant of Roku, then so is Azula (obviously). I like to think that means that Azula took all the crazy from Ozai's side and Zuko got all the good from Ursa's side. I'mma shoot someone in the face if she doesn't appear soon, though. D<
