I recently got bangs and I have finally trianed them to flow together, but they still flare out on the sides. I've tried a straightener, I've tried product that is supposed to even out kinks in your hair, and both at the same time... but they always end up flaring out in an hour. I have straight hair that has little waves if I don't blowdry, is there a quickfix that doesn't involve three hours of hair time?

i have that same problem, ive found letting them grow out a bit prevent that but, if your like me and like your bangs then letting them grow out isnt an option. I too have tried product after product and still nothing works..

I have not one, but two cowlicks above my forehead. I've discovered that my bangs behave better if I blow dry it immediately on a round brush after I shower. They also will do what I want a bit more easily the day after I've washed my hair as opposed to the day of having showered.
So maybe you can try drying it on a round brush as well, then put in a bit of hairspray on the sides to keep them from flipping away from the rest? Straightening tends to just make bangs stick out funky anyway, so that's probably not a great idea.

I too roll my bangs with a round brush directly after showering and then I put product in and then I flat iron them(I have wavy hair though) I hope this helps!

My hair tangles in round brushes... even the lady at the salon couldn't get my bangs to dry in the round brush without them getting caught sweatdrop ... I am being so difficult, but thanks so much for your advice guys!! Everyone here is so nice! heart

Erm. Is your hair naturally curly? Wavy?

It has a slight wave, most say it's straight. When I blow dry the rest of my hair it is straight. With the shorter parts they always flair, no matter what I do. It's like I have to walk around with a salon in my bag to do touch ups wherever I go. And to be honest that's a little too much for me.

You could try getting a hair relaxer done at a salon, maybe. I'm a bit iffy on suggesting that to you though, since repeated relaxer treatments of that strength can do damage to your hair pretty easily.

Well I have thick hair so according to physics, its suppose to stand up when i cut my bangs (I cut my own bangs)
If you want them short there is a trick you can do to cutting them.
Recently the whole oval shape bangs are in like they are strait in the center but the lower a bit on the sides.
A good example is looking at Mika Nakashima's bangs on how they are now. They are strait but they lower just a bit on the sides. And If you know how to trick your hair style, it wont look like its lowered on the sides it just looks like part of the style of your hair ^^--
Good luck

I have the same problem. I've tried a lot of things and they don't work for me. I'm just growing them out.

Here is what my stylist told me, because I was having the same problem. EVERY TIME you shower, you have to take a round brush to them, a little hairspray, and a BLOW DRYER. Every time you shower. No exceptions. And after a few MONTHS, your hair will be trained.
I have stubborn, Indian-straight, thick hair with fine strands. I've been doing as she says and I can see that my bangs are reluctantly following. Right now I just got out of bed and they are on my forehead where there are supposed to be, not hanging out around my ears. I don't think it will ever get to the point where I can climb out of the shower, shake 'em up and have them ready to go, but hair can be trained if you are firm.
I suggest talking to your stylist about this.
