STILL WORK IN PROGRESS ON THIS
because of pokemon's popularity, many people made fake pokemon games. i have created a guide to stop you falling for this scam.
STEP ONE- How/ Where to buy:
- only buy games at retailers who are well known. check the pokemon official website for the games lists and lastly buy the games new if you can.
STEP TWO- Knowing your box:
- every pokemon game box contains a BIG manual, some nintendo advertisements and an instruction booklet. second hand one's may not contain these.
- American games by nintendo say Official nintendo seal. European copies say Original nintendo seal of quality.
- the rating systen is either PEGI for Eurpoean copies or ESRB for American copies. pokemon games are usually 3+ (PEGI) or E (ESRB.
- pokemon boxes are usually shiny. new fire red games have player's choice at the top. NO NEW POKEMON GAMES "SAY GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!". the back should show screenshots and maybe a picture of a trainer. if it is blurred, it is probably fake. the nintendo logo is and the seal is again on the back. the top left corner should show the name of the game. the top right should show what it can be played on.
