i tend to "try" to be polite in public *except in front of my friends, lol* but i have no control over my emotions at all, so if someone makes me angry i make a point to tell em off... i'm bad. i rarely cuss though. (by rarely i mean... maybe once a day? atleast in my head i cuss.... badly, lol)

Im always mannerly. But if it's just me and my girlfriends having a girls night out, or Im in a bad mood, I curse and burp like crazy. Yet when Im around my boyfriend, I try so hard to be mannerly considering Im a clutz I always end up doing something stupid around him lol. Once I belched really loud at lunch, forgetting he was sitting next to me. The whole cafeteria went quiet and I wanted to die. But my friends were too busy laughing, and he was staring at me shocked. 0__0 <--his face

I don't think I've burped out loud in over a year now..! O.o
Personally, I don't even like to eat in front of other people. I am a little over self-conscious about things like that.
And as for swearing, I almost never.
But it's just the way I am... I'm really paranoid about how others might perceive me.

I swing both ways. I can be very polite to almost annoying extremes which is mostly around people I don't know well or don't trust.
When I am stressed or in a fowl mood I can be very unlady like. If I am in a Black mood then I would simply stear clear of my, but it does get annoying since when I do have a moment people get all werid about it. I think being polite in this day and age is so odd that when you act human people can't deal with it.

Manners, I guess, have always been a part of me. My family raised me that way. I'm pretty self-conscious about it too most of the time. I always sit upright, smile, say the common "bless you," "please," and "thank you" etc. I never cuss and never let my anger take over and get the best of me.
However, when I'm with friends and family I do let loose a little and by a little I mean, laugh hardily, open mouth smile, express my self openly in conversation if it's something I'm knowledgeable about, finish someone else's sentence if I find it appropriate, and eat or drink a little in front of others. I still refrain from belching/burping, sneezing loudly, cussing, and the like because it would seem out of character; I can't bring myself to do those things.
As posted by others above, I too don't like eating in public and find it hard to breathe if I'm to close to someone else. Small things like this make me feel totally self-conscious and embarassed.
