God Wars is the collective tales of a world created by an omnipotent unknown and the gods he created to govern the world he left behind. There were eight of these gods created, four in higher degree than the others. Each god was assigned a different part of life to look after.

The higher gods (Higharchy) govern the more abstract parts of life: Creation, Destruction, Time, and Circumstance (which some call Fate). They are Gaia, Chaos, Chronos, and Lilithian, respectively. The four other gods govern the building blocks of the world, the elements: Wind, Water, Earth, and Fire. These are Windy, Aquis, Geo, and Taio.
Below these gods are many minor gods, who play much smaller parts in the balance of things. Minor gods do the small things to help take the burden off the Lord's shoulders. All gods are decended from (at least one of) the gods listed above.

This is the tale of the gods of this world and the mortals and immortals that become entwined in their lives.

Note: Players should try to post at least twice a week unless sick, moving, or doing their finals. Pre-mades who go inactive will be played by me, complete with dialog. Originals will be worked around.

Gods

Hierarchy

Gaia
Goddess of Creation. Supposedly a mother figure, and worshiped as such. However, she’d much rather create random nothings then play mother to anybody. Her sole purpose is to create, and she supports all things created, artificial or natural. Represented by the Rabbit.

Chaos
God of destruction. He’s worshiped as an angry god that wants nothing but the total annihilation of the world. Though he’s the source of all destructive power, he doesn’t really care about destroying anything and only does so when he's asked to. He has a passion for music, since it's one of the few things he's capable of actually creating. Represented by the swan.

Chronos
God of Time. He’s not really worshiped, but is acknowledged by mortals as a major god. On top of managing Time, he also governs the Underworld. He’s a workaholic, and despite being in charge of time itself, can never find time to do all his work. He’s a character that never tries to find a second to himself and never finds time to give a good smile. Represented by the Phoenix.

Lilithian
Goddess of Fate. Originally, she had the power to manipulate the course of everyone's lives, and made sure each was filled with just the right amount of happiness and misfortune. However, the other gods decided to give mortals a little more freedom. Now she lives among mortals, hidden, an outcast of the gods, but never fully stripped of power. Represented by a white wolf.

Elementals

Windy
Goddess of Wind. Also presiding over Secrets. Her worshipers view her as a fairly depressed person whose heart is always wandering, though this couldn't be farther from the truth.
She's a fairly fairly serious, but cheery person. Sensible, straight forward, but not afraid to look at things in a different light. She sticks to the rule, but prefers compromise when needed. Represented by the griffin.

Aquis
Goddess of Water. She also presides over wisdom and the moon. She's calm and composed, but comes with the assumption that she's always right. She hates Taio's egotism, and tends to get in arguments with him over trivial things. Represented by a mermaid.

Geo
God of Earth. He also presides over chivalry. He's portrayed by worshipers as an overly serious character that's really too flat to be happy or mad. In reality, he's a righteous sort of person who looks for the good in everything and is quick to help a friend. Represented by a bear.

Taio
God of Fire. He also presides over courage and the sun. He’s worshiped as a brave powerful warrior that remains undefeated to this day. He’s a hotheaded, egotistical god that believes that to worth is measured by strength. He has a tendency to disagree with Aquis, although he by no means looks down on her. Represented by a lion.

What's occured in the past:
You only have to read underlined

Second Age
Chaos fell in love with a mortal and married her, spuring the anger of a jealous Lilithian, who loved him. Lilithian manipulated the woman's life in a way that led to her early death. Unaware of Lilithian's involvement, Chaos begun to blame the world for his wife's death and attempted to reduce it to ash in his grief. Reluctantly, Gaia and Chronos sealed Chaos' soul and hid it away in the Underworld. However, he never fully died and thus remains sealed, half-dead and sleeping.

Third Age
Lilithian, bearing a grudge against the other gods, left the Mortal Realm and traveled back to her former home, where she secretly made an attempt on Gaia's life. The attempt was foiled when Geo intervened at the cost of his own life. However, the death of Geo had Gaia so disoriented that Lilithian easily managed to banish her instead. Lilithian disguised herself as Gaia, fooling most of the remaining gods and taking over the Celestial Realm in her place.

However, the other Lords noticed something was amiss, particular the sudden disappearance of Geo. Looking blindly for answers in a veil of mistruth put upon them by Lilithian, both Taio and Aquis sent agents to find out what was going on in the world below. The agents met up and, with the help of the people they met in the Mortal Realm, they found out that the world was being manipulated by another god. They also found Gaia, hiding as a mortal. However, shortly after reporting to their lords, Lilithian caught on and sealed the two agents in special prisons. Gaia managed to escape death again, but was again banished to the mortal realm.

Years passed, and Taio and Aquis began to lose their own senses, locked in a viel of control. Desperate for something the reach out to, they managed a truce and hit it off. Miraculously, the ordeal managed to shake them away from the spells control for a while yet. (Probably because it was so out of character for them.) A son was born of the event, the first born under Lilithian's reign. Their son grew up loyal to Lilithian, and never wanted to leave the Celestial Realm. However, sometime during his adolecence he angered an elder sibling, who secretly dropping him onto the Mortal Realm. The boy wandered for a while, looking for a quick return (as most were locked out by Lilithian). Instead, he found a young woman. Deciding the visit wasn't so bad after all, he wandered the world. In travels he learned of the things Lilithian was doing, and how she was disguising herself as Gaia. After a bout of disallusionment, the young man sought again a way home. He found it, and went straight forth to challenge Lilithian. She responded by permanently banishing him to the Mortal Realm, sealing most of his powers.

At this point the tale begans, Lilithian is still in power, Gaia still wanders the world, and no one is really sure what became of Geo's soul. Chronos seems to be ignoring the situation. Will he finally move? Who will be the heroes of this time?

GW will be following a certain plot-line, with slight variations based on player actions.

Cast
In approx. chronological order

Name: Shilt North
Age: 17
Occupation: Prince of Northerland
Species: Human
Background: Shilt grew up on the peaks of the northern mountains. He does a lot of hunting in the woods with his dog, a half-wolf.
On top of hunting, Shilt has also been trained in the way of the sword, adapting his teacher's styles to accomidate his left-handedness.
He tries to see everything equally, and patiently awaits his turn at the throne.
(Fuller family background upon application.)

Shilt is one of the main focus characters for this game, with much of the story planned around him. In other words, he's the hero character. Shilt is open for play, but some of his decisions (such as romantic interests) will be nudged in a couple directions. Should no one want this character, he'll be an NPC.

Name: Ten
Age:15
Occupation: Street Performer (Dancing)
Species: Human
Background: Ten knows very little of her own background. As far as she knows, she came from the South Lands on the Hersian continent. However, since the South Lands' mysterious overnight destruction in her early youth, Ten has traveled the world making her own living with her brother.
Ten has a fascination with successful women and likes to study the lives of women who've left their mark on history. Her current favorite lady is (Haven't thought up her name yet! XD).

Name: Shin
Age: 15
Occupation: Street Performer (Musician)
Species: Human
Background: What Shin knows of his history, he's not saying. Shin seems to enjoy not enjoying things, and makes his dislikes known every time he comes across them. Whether his behaviour is a result of early childhood trauma (homeland go boom) or not is unclear.
Shin loves music, and seems to have a strong attachment to his sister, Ten.

Name: Aoi Hersen
Age: 15
Occupation: Student (Mage)
Species: Half-human
Background: Aoi grew up in a well off family with her 6 other siblings. Because she was the youngest, and a girl, she was never expected to have too many responsibilities. Encouraged by her siblings, Aoi was sent to a magic boarding school located in Northerland. She spent much of her childhood there and considers it her home away from home. She grew up as Red's friend and practice partner.
(More species background upon application)

Name: Red
Age: 18
Occupation: Student, magic researcher
Species: Human
Background: Red is a successful student at the (Red Religion based) institute for magical study, rivaling Aoi's school. He prides himself in his skill, and speaks highly of them. However, he doesn't like to speak of his personal background- at all. His specialty is fire and water based magic.

Name: Sandy
Age: 16
Occupation: None
Species: Half-human/demi-human
Background: Sandy lives in Northern Desert of Northerland with her nomadic family tribe. Both her parents died at a fairly young age, so she lives with her aunt. She likes her simple life, wandering the desert and finding what she needs. She has a half-brother she sees off and on who lives with his scorpion demi-human tribe. She enjoys his company when she can get it.

Name: Eliza Lohenvood
Age: 102 (approx. 18-19)
Occupation: "Affluential bargaining chip for a corrupted elitist society."
Species: Elf
Background: Eliza doesn't like humans. She thinks their like flies, a natural part of the eco-system that needs to be avoided. So, her tribes isolated ways have worked quite well for her.
Eliza lives with her parents, the tribe leaders, in a life of ease and stability. She frequently becomes bored and amuses herself with archery practice for as long as it sustains her.
However, her parents have recently shown interest in a young human village recently founded in the Elfwoods. Their interest has her disturbed.
(Ongoing story, more details upon application.)

And a few NPCs that will be traveling with the group.
Ten, and Shin will be played by me for story purposes. I claim Red.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since a lot of you like putting your own characters, or even yourself, into these games, the option is still there. I just ask that you a) reconfigure your characters background to fit period and world, and b) try to fit them into the story somehow. This would be easiest done if they were somehow connected to the above listed characters. If none of these apply to you, ask about NPCs.

Fill in the details with this form:

Name:
Age:
Occupation:
Species:
Background:
-Nationality
-Skills
-Family background
-ect.

P.S.
Original only. No Sailor Naruto Z.

What's happening now:
Story Progression

Shilt will be the initial focus, with some other NPC activity occuring simultaniously. You can choose to play out your characters lives before meeting up with Shilt, or wait for a signal to jump in. (The former is recommended for Eliza.)

At any given point, I'll suggest something to one or all of you over PM in order to move the story in a certain direction. How you make the character act is up to you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shilt is doing nothing in his not-played-by-anyone-yet-ness.
