...where EVERYTHING seemed to go wrong?

The paint is the wrong color, the actors are not taking notes, the gaffers tape is late so you can't paint the floor, no one is showing up for work calls, your one gel short of what you need. Basically just plain EVERYTHING!

How do you get through it without jumping out a window? Cus... I'm about five minutes from doing just that.

The show I am producing, directing, and designing... the show I am spending about $500 dollars of my OWN money on... the show I need to producer to graduate from college... I am not signed up for class credits. They took me out of the class and I'm about to just have a breakdown.

Any suggestions on how to vent this stress somewhere I won't be ending my life?

Ooh I was in one of those. It was "The Young and Fair". Teched it, actually. And it wasn't a very good play to begin with. No fun at all. People were memorizing their lines at dress rehearsal, costumes just weren't quite right, the set was pitiful (though I have to give the guy who built it some credit....he did it basically all by himself).

I suggest the following:
1: Go to the props closet and pick out some useless prop/set piece.
2: Find a big mallet.
3: Take them both out behind the theatre.
4: Wail on that summbitch like a redheaded stepchild.

Works every time. 3nodding

Never had everything go wrong but the last production I helped out on had one serious problem. We painted the stage in the morning and half an hour before the show it was still wet... I had to get paper towels and scrub at the stage until it was dry... we just managed it but it was still slightly tacky and the actors had to tread very carefully...

Well now everything on the show going fine, but everything ELSE in life is going to heck. Ugh. Can't win.

I've had a show like that....I was stage manager...and it was just plain hell. While destroying a prop does sound like fun, at the time I literally walked onto the stage (about 45 minutes before house opened) and just screamed. It was really cool, as with the theater acoustics is became a mega-scream, and it totally released all my stress. very cathartic. smile

Yeah, screaming works. One of my friends was once really REALLY stressed out during a show so she just went outside and screamed her head off, came back inside, and everything bad just didn't seem as important anymore.

(their costumes were not complete here. the beast had like this stuff like glued to his face. he looked so beastly. its fun seeing friends in the play. we had loads of fun w/ this play)

her windy thing fell off every show but ONE

im small so i had to climb under the clock and feel for her pants rim
D:
i most likely touched her butt many times
it was dark though!
i could not see a thing!
then this kid gave me his phone for light
the mic box was on and she ran out there just in time
i sorta became incharge of her costume problems from then on
i always put on her windy thing
i actually forgot what else went wrong

that might be a good thing
