I LOVE Hermione. She's one of those people who you would think is predictable, but at the same time you never know what she's going to do next.
Without her, the whole series would be nothing.

Hermione does have her bad points mind you. She can be overly obstinate, too much a stickler for rules, cruel, quick-tempered, arrogant, irritating, and willfully blind at times.
I still luff her though. heart
And i think Emma Watson portrays her well in the movies. 3nodding

That's what makes a book character come to life.

I am just like Hermione so she is one of my favorite characters. I love how she grows throughout the series and she is completely different. I think she was necessary to beat Voldemort. Did you ever notice the golden Trio strong points were what the scarecrow, Tin man and Lion wanted from the Wizard of Oz?? The loin wanted courage. That's Harry strong point. The Tin man wanted a heart and that's more of Ron's strong point. The scarecrow wanted a brain and that's what Hermione's strong point was. It's amazing how the whole story fits. Hermione was necessary for Harry to even get close to defeating Voldemort.

Hermione is my favorite female character. She always reminds me of me, because she cares for her friends, she's smart, and she's has a lot of friends that are guys. She seems like she'd be a great person to know. Ever since I started reading Harry Potter when I was 5, I have always wanted Hermione to be my best friend. heart dramallama mrgreen

Love your opinion I think she was supposed to be put in Ravenclaw i remember this by reading it on the Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix because she was highly intelligent probaly more thatn some of the seventh years! blaugh
Well I try to bring this point up every chance I get. The Hat sorted you to where you would exceed. She already had the wit and intelligence of a seventh year Ravenclaw when she was an eleven year old first year. She would have been fine in the house, but nothing about her would have grown. However in Gryffindor, she was able to be brave and brought out of her books. I'm not saying that Ravenclaws don't learn how to be brave, they are in their own right, but in Gyrffindor she learned that not everything comes from books, and somethings you just have to experience yourself. If she were in Ravenclaw that was something she wouldn't have learned.

~bozly~ shes got good looks, shes very smart and she has good advice fir people. Actaully, Hermione is supposed to be quite ugly, except for the year of the Yule Ball, but even then she needed a dress, some make up and such to make her pretty. She has overly large teeth, too. So I wouldn't say she's pretty, but I'd diffinatly prefer her over the prettiest girls in the world because she's got the brains and wit, not to mention personality to make up for it.

Actually, she's not ugly. She's just not drop dead gorgeous. She's got more important things to care about than her looks, so obviously, most people wouldn't give her a second glance.

How could somebody not like Hermione? Of course, she is not perfect but who is? I like her very much because she is intelligent, brave, reasonable and loyal. She sometimes is some kind of know-it-all, but I like even that because somehow it is cute^^ I also think Emma Watson does a great job portraying her. Even they don't say that she is pretty in the book I always imagined her to be pretty, and Emma is very pretty^^ I also like the intelligent expression in her eyes... she's like made for Hermione.

I'm sure you have things about your look that are not completely perfect and gorgeous. Also.. Who keeps reviving threads that haven't been posted in, in two years?

*Snickers*
This threads posts went from August of last year, to the end of June this year. Not to mention this is an original thread!
Anyway, I think Hermione is a character meant for people to relate to. Theres almost always a time in most girls (some guys) lives where they feel unwanted, and well unattractive. Luckily she had a flaming haired loon to bring her out of it. *laughs* I love Ron, but he's such a boy sometimes. All girls feel ugly at one point or another even if its not true, if pretty doesn't exist how does ugly? Its all really a matter of opinion...in my opinion... As she grew, she began to really understand, what a "girl" supposedly had to be to get the guy. But she soon realized all Ron wanted was her. If you haven't already noticed I'm a huge Hr/R shipper, ahoy! I love Hermione's character and what her character symbolizes. I hope we get more information in the future about her future. So many un-answered questions, are driving me mad.
Wow...Hermione love affair rant over...

I'm a great deal similar to Hermione (and Luna as well) so I've got to love her! heart One of my favourite things about her is how realistic she is. After all, don't we all know someone like Hermione, even if he/she isn't as brave? I admire her resourceful cleverness. Coming up with that plan to lead Umbridge to the centaurs on the spot? Genius! idea I like that she's afraid of failure; remember her boggart during Lupin's final exam? cool
As for development...I actually believe she stops developing after OotP. Sure, she has drama with Ron, but she doesn't grow up anymore than she already had. I know she was already mature, and JKR wanted to focus on maturing Harry, Ron, and Draco but...it's still disappointing. sad Particularly in DH it's as if she's merely there to be helpful and useful to other characters; in that book she herself doesn't develop at all.
Nonetheless, I have a great deal of fondness and respect for Hermione. Even when she's stubborn, she still believes she's doing the right thing. People that stand by their morals are good in my book! whee
