My current fave. I love his novels, short stories, poems and graphic novels.
Any comments? Opinions?

I wish to hunt Neil Gaiman down and give him a big ol' hug for everything he's written and had a hand in. smile Stardust, American Gods, Neverwhere, Fragile Things, Smoke and Mirrors, Good Omens (with Terry Pratchett, hoorah!), the Sandman comics...
He makes me a happy young woman.

Mmmmm, Gaiman is good. Sometimes I forget just how good he is. :'D Currently reading Smoke and Mirrors..... I've read a lot of the stories from it before hand, or heard Neil himself read them, but I got it for Christmas and decided to read it. I'm also reading Anansi Boys but for whatever reason it's harder to get through. I recently got a friend of mine reading Gaiman, he's started with American Gods and Fragile Things, and now his Mom's reading AG too. XDD [/Gaiman f**]

He has the most amazing storytelling voice I've ever heard - it's so rich and he does voices well...I borrowed a copy of the Neverwhere audiobook from a coworker and it makes me swoon in a way that's very..."Oh he's so good at reading his stuff aloud..."

Neverwhere the BBC tv show thing disappointed me quite a bit. sad But Stardust made me happy when that came out, even if it wasn't the same as the book. Twas a good adaptation, yes indeed.
American Gods reins supreme as my favorite, but so far the Sandman comics are a good alternative. biggrin If you've ever listened to Tori Amos, you might hear referenves to a "Neil"...and it turns out she's referencing him. This makes me a happy Innoittaa.

Yeah, I heard Neverwhere was bad, so I looked it up on youtube, found it, and saw that indeed, it WAS awful. XDD I don't think I even got through the whole first epsode. I haven't seen the Stardust movie but I was told it was very good.
American Gods was indeed amazing, but I personally love his short stories. Fragile Things was fantasic... and inpirational, to me at least. But, I think, his graphic novels stand out the best, especially Murder Mysteries and The Sandman. I swoon over his Graphic novels!
Oh yeah, Tori Amos, I've not heard a lot of her stuff, but I know she and Gaiman are pretty close. I do belive she's writing the score of the Coraline film that'll be coming out before long.

And Fragile things had the Sherlock Holmes/Lovecraftian story, along with a short continuation of where Shadow was after American Gods. I still need to read Anansi Boys, though the whole thing makes me feel incredibly awkward at the moment, and embarrassed for the character.
Ooooooh...Coraline will become a film? I must finally grab that book and read it, then. biggrin
