So in the manga one of the rules says that there are red and white death notes... it also says there can be up to 6 in the human world. So how come the three that we see are all black. I would want a red one. Red's a cool color. you would think that ryuk being as much of a rebel of the shinigami as he is he would have a crazy color death note. I dunno

I want a red one and a white one and I want to parade around with them wearing tinsel during Christmas. d-(n_n)z

Hmmm. . . red or black? I'd go with red, sinse it looks- nope, black. It look cooler then a red one~ >.<.

i dotn really get why they even put that rule in. it doesn't really make any sense. unless they were like palnning on bringing another detah note in and just decided not too but left the rule?

I think the purpose of rules like that being shown in the series was just to give the whole idea of the Shinigami and their "lives" more depth... Like the rule about them not being able to have sex with each other or humans.
...Though that could have just been to prevent awful fanfiction/fanart. Not that it worked. o__o
We don't see more books of other colors because, as the rule states - most of the Death Notes are black. Only a select few are red or white.
I think I'd want a white one, though. I could draw all over it. sweatdrop

maybe only the higher-ups like the "old man" or elite Shinigami get the different colored noteboooks.
One question. Was this rule introduced before Sidoh came into the series?
If so, I have theory. Maybe they put that rule in there to announce that Sidoh had a colored Death Note
