The Caretaker, et al You didn't think Sugar was all alone, did you? The Caretaker: Name: Cali Age: appears to be in her late teens to twenties Physical Description: Cali is a tiny young woman with a baby face and a curvy, compact figure. Her eyes are vivid and pale and her soft colored hair is waist-length, though since it gets in her way she usually keeps it up. Personality: A girly girl at heart, Cali has a soft spot for all things cute and sweet. She enjoys calmer activities such as cooking and tending, and though she's not overly fond of "traipsing around over hill and dale" she'll make great efforts to pursue things that pique her interest. She is quiet, easygoing, and not prone to gossip, and is always willing to lend an ear to a friend. Despite her somewhat ditzy demeanor, though, she has a sharp mind that she enjoys engaging. History: unknown Non-Mayda Friends:(pending)Coco the Cat (Nikku) Chloe the Carousel Horse Titania the Horse (Soquili)

Drowned Lightening flashed outside the greenhouse's large windows, and the sound of rain on the roof was nearly at a roar inside. A warm draft creeped in, and the wind howled furiously outside.
Sugar thought it looked just lovely out there. So much water! But Cali had told her not to go out in a storm, so there Sugar sat, just watching from her seat by the window. But just then, she saw a small brownish blur streak across the darkened landscape outside and disappear into a bush.
It couldn't be a squirrel or a mouse, since those had more sense than to get stuck out in a storm. And birds didn't run on the ground like that. And it was the wrong color to be a Maida . . . so whatever could it be?
She tried not to think about it, since she really wasn't supposed to go outside. But what if it was hurt, or needed shelter? It didn't take Sugar long to grab a makeshift umbella and head outside.
And that was the day that Sugar met Coco, the kitty that looked like a drowned rat when wet.

Carousel "Pleeease can't I come, Cali?" Sugar begged, giving her caretaker the best doe-eyes she could muster.
Cali just looked at her for a long moment, and then let out a small sigh.
"Oh, I suppose I could take you, little one, if you really want to come. But I don't think you'll like it much, and you'll spend most of the time in your bag anyway." Much to Sugar's delight, Cali then scooped Sugar up and gently placed her in her special bag, which she then slung over her shoulder. "Yay, we're going to a carnival!" Sugar cheered quietly, earning her a smile from her caretaker as they went on their way.
Being so tiny and delicate, Sugar was a bit disappointed to find that Cali was right. Between the bright lights, crowds of people, and the wildly moving rides, there was little for her to do but peek out from inside the safety of her bag! Though she did enjoy the garden exibits, even though they had no other Maida. The evening wore on, and soon the fair was getting ready to close. Cali, wanting to avoid the crowds leaving, cut across the darkened fairgrounds, and Sugar poked her head out and enjoyed the quiet.
As they reached the edge of the fairgounds, a faint tune floated could be heard floating through the air. Colorful lights whirled around, ahead of them, and Sugar tugged at Cali's sleeve in question.
"Look, Sugar, it's a carousel! I didn't know this fair had one . . . lucky us, it looks like it's still open!
Sugar's eyes widened as they approached the brightly lit carousel, which seemed to slow to a halt just for them. It was filled with all kinds of creatures, some of them rather scary looking! Quickly looking around, a pretty and gentle looking blue and violet horse caught her eye. "Can we ride that one, Cali?"
And ride that one they did! Though for some reason, Cali seemed surprised when the horse introduced herself. Chloe, or so the horse introduced herself, was quite sweet, and Sugar was utterly fascinated by this 'carousel' thing. She'd have to remember to ask Cali for one for her birthday.
