Mou... I've felt bad for Itsuki lately. He's been going through a lot. So, I thought I'd go buy him something.
I found myself going back to the antique shop where I found Itsuki's mirror. Maybe if I bought something from there, it would make him feel more comfortable? Since that is his, er, "home" I guess.
So... I bought this interesting looking necklace there. Itsuki wears that shell necklace so he'll probably like this one, right?
I better give it to him before he leaves. He's been antsy ever since that phone call from the shop. Heh, I was just there, too...

Itsuki hurried down the Durem streets, not stopping until he approached a familiar housing building. His steps fell to a slow walk as he got closer to the apartment building, his hand rubbing the back of his neck.
When things seemed to have just calmed down, everything got complicated again.
Urahara was missing, among others, and he was now on a rescue mission team with Kyoko. It spelt trouble, he knew. She easily distracted him...
But the thoughts of the teen reminded him of another issue that had begun to bother him.
Where had Yeste' been?
Itsuki wasn't sure if she had got the message from the shop, but he suspected she had. She seemed like the type who might want to get involved--or did she?--but either way, he hadn't heard from her in a while. He didn't know what to think and frankly, thinking was a problem in itself.
The simu subconciously traced his hands to his necklace, gliding his fingers over the materials as he stepped towards the elevator. Itsuki stepped inside once the doors opened and pressed the button for his floor.

This is my last journal entry before I leave on the rescue mission to save Urahara and the others lost on the cruise. I'm not scared. I don't know when I'll be back. Things will turn out okay, I'll be back with Ura and everything will be fine.
I hope Yeste' won't be lonely while I'm gone. She has Vanim and I'm sure lots of other friends. I don't know what Ian is gonna do while I'm gone, but she'd be happier I bet.
I'll be going with Kyoko... She's a... really nice girl. Something about her makes me feel warm. Its kind of like that feeling I get with... Yeste'? That must mean Kyo is going to be another friend. ... right?
I hope I don't get anymore of those nightmares while I'm out there. How would I be able to explain that? I'm also gonna be the only kid going. Its a little weird. I hope nobody treats me like a little kid.
I think it is going to be a successful mission, though. I'll bring you along, journal, since I might get bored.

((Telegram and a Box from... guess who? n_n)) A shady looking figure stands infront of the door to Itsuki and Ian's apartment, it stares at the door for a second before reaching into a bag hanging at his shoulder and grabbing a box wrapped in brown paper and a black envelope with a crimson seal. The figure slips the box and the letter through the mail slot and adjusts his hat and leaves. Oops, it was just the mail man! Upon opening of the black letter with the blood red seal and nothing written on it except for Itsuki's name in fine caligraphy, one would see old parchment-like paper with the scent of roses coming from it, and words written in a neat and elligant hand. The letter's owner can probably guess who it is from already.... Letter Dear Itsuki, I have returned from my long trip. I appologise for not telling you before I left, but Sao did not warn me until ten minutes before we left that we were leaving anywhere. Not even so much as a hint before hand! But we both know how insane she is, so such spur of the moment acts aren't uncommon with her. I also wasn't sure of your actual address before I left... I had Sao find out for me after we returned today (though it is probably Yesterday now) so I couldn't even write a letter. BUT I did pick you up something while I was away. Anyways, Sao decided to drag me away on some pointless trip all over the place. She didn't even know why we went on the trip, but I guess she just felt an impulse to go or something... Mostly we went to tourist spots, drove around, and shopped. We shopped a whole lot.... I left with a small bag of things and came home with two very large suitcases full to the point where I almost couldn't close them... plus Vanim's cage. I hope to see you some time soon, give me a call soon and I'll come over or you could come over, either way... By the way, I hope you like the gift I got you. I got it in a little store in London, I think you would have liked London... I found out I have family in London! I want to go back sometime, maybe drag you along with me next time. Your FriendLove, Yeste' Tel' AvatharMoving onto the box... it seems plain enough, plain white string holding the paper on, plain brown paper... but thats just on the outside. After ripping the paper off one finds Yeste's signature black box and red ribbon. The box isn't very big though, not like her last gift.

Ian was in the middle of watching television and eating lunch by two plops near the door. She blinked and looked over to her dismay to find... mail? It couldn't have been bills, they wouldn't be here for another week... and usually they didn't send small boxes.
Her curiosity piqued, the woman stood up and walked to the newest members of the household. Picking up the letter and accompanying box, she realized (sadly) that they were not for her. "Itsuki? This is from... it doesn't say. Huh."
She sat the items on the table sadly, reminded again that her Simu was out on some crazy mission without having any way of ensuring his safety. "...He'll be home soon." She assured the mail, or mostly herself.
At least, she hoped.

Itsuki really couldn't blame her.
It was in the middle of the night when the doorknob rattled. Out of a sense normality (see: sheer stubbornness), Ian continued sleeping on the couch. Like any worried mother, she slept lighter and less everyday. So when the door threatened to be open, the young woman woke up fairly quickly.
And when the tired boy finally jimmied the apartment door open, he was greeted with a warm thwack in the head with a rolled up magazine. Twice.
Itsuki stood there in the dark silence for a moment, stunned, before rubbing his head and flicking on the living room light.
His odd owner seemed to squeal when his presence was confirmed as something welcome and he didn't dodge the tight hug.
Yeah, he was back home, alright.

I totally forgot I brought you, journal. Sorry. But I just got home... a lot happened. Well, not really. But it would be disappointing if I didn't say that, right?
Being on a boat really sucks. I get seasick kinda easily. Except for this necklace. ....Man, I don't wanna think or write about that right now.
Yeste' was on the ship, I was really glad to see her. The mission turned out to be a success and everyone's back. It wasn't a big giant expedition full of tree-climbing, bushwacking, beach lounging... Not that I, uh.. really do those things anyway. So whatever.
I got something in the mail, Ian said. Also, there's gonna be a party at the shop. I'll check it all out tomorrow. Kinda tired...

"So, it came in the mail after I left?"
Itsuki was sitting on the couch now, observing the brown generically wrapped box and the envelope with his name displayed elegantly on its surface. Ian only nodded in affirmation.
It was no lie that the boy enjoyed receiving mail. Maybe it made him feel important? It was probably just good to reassure himself that he had friends. Once he picked up the envelope and removed the letter from it's grasp, he was quite sure which 'friend' it was. Hm, was that a scent?
Ian's giggles distracted Itsuki for a moment while he glared at her, then he returned to the task at hand--reading the letter. It would have been helpful to have gotten it before he left, as he now knew most of the information it held. However, one word in particular stood out to him near the bottom. He didn't even realize he was staring at the paper until Ian spoke up.
"--love letter?" Was all he caught, his ears checking in when the clue word was said.
"She was just telling me about her travels," he hissed, hoping his caretaker would get the message and stop acting so... girly.
The simu set the letter and it's accompanying envelope down on the table as he moved onto the box. It wasn't as big as the last one but, when he pulled off the string and brown paper, he noticed it was still the same kind of packaging.
Itsuki's gold eyes lit up when he removed the lid.
Ian blinked. "Another necklace?"
"...It's better than just another necklace."
The boy lifted the gift in his hand and felt the shape of the bat with his thumb. A smile developed on the young boy's face and he stood up quickly, rushing to the bathroom with the new piece of jewelry.
Ian just blinked and looked at the empty box and letter. It really didn't seem like such a big deal to her. She never thought of him as much of a bat person before.
Itsuki appreciated the item, however, and took no time in slipping it around his neck to join the other two already there. He was racking up a larger necklace collection than weapons, he mused to himself. It wasn't a problem though... because this one was just perfect to him.
He grinned and examined the way it looked on him pridefully in the mirror. The little simu really owed it to Yeste' this time! He didn't have the damnest clue why he liked it so much, but something about it struck him deep inside.
Who cared? He liked it, did it really matter why? Nope.

Hm hm hm. I'm so excited... Today is Halloween! Not only is that a pretty nifty holiday, but its the day I first bought Itsuki's mirror. I'm sure the day is special to him in some way... I can't wait to tell him about it.
I should probably get a halloween costume for him. Hm...

"Itsuki? Morning!"
Ian happily opened the door to his bedroom, not waiting for a response. She found the boy sitting on his bed, staring out the window. He didn't even bother to glance at her and she approached the bed.
"Itsuki, today's a special day," she started with a grin.
With this, the Simu turned to give her a bored, inquisitive look. "Let me guess, its the day when people dress like weirdos?"
She blinked and furrowed her eyebrows, "Something like that. ...How'd you know?"
He rolled his eyes and pointed to the window, "Because it looks like people have already started." Itsuki looked back outside for a few moments before asking, "What's this day about?"
Ian grinned and sat down on the foot of his bed. "Today is Halloween. Its a day you dress up in costume and go around collecting candy from people at night! Its supposed to be a day of scary, demonic things... but I've never seen anything like that for myself."
"...Huh."
"It's also the day I got your mirror," she explained.
"...Great. So I'm related to a weird holiday like this." With that, Itsuki pulled himself out of bed and headed towards the door. "I think I'm going to go outside and check things."
"...Kay. Just make sure you eat breakfast first!" Ian called as he headed out the bedroom door.

Necklace After eating breakfast, Itsuki headed to the bathroom to clean up before exploring the streets on Halloween. Once he made his way to the room, he splashed water on his face. It wasn't until he wiped his face dry that he noticed the heat on his neck. He thought it might have been something that might have gone away after cooling his face off but now the feeling was still there. ...and on a closer look in the mirror, he could have sworn the beads of his island necklace had changed colors. "...What the hell?" Itsuki lifted up the necklace in an attempt to examine it and found it hot to the touch of his fingers, as well. So something is up with this necklace..., he thought. But what? As soon as the necklace was formally recognized, it began to glow a bright blue, heating up till it became almost painful for Itsuki. It sure was having fun, for a necklace."O-ow!" Itsuki let go of the necklace, only to wince when it came back into contact with the skin of his neck. He quickly tried to remove the item, but was anything but quick about it, as he tried to untangle it from the other necklaces he wore and then finally around his mess of hair. Once the boy dropped the hot object onto the bathroom counter, he noticed the blue glow emitting from it. "...What now?" he asked, in an annoyed tone. And then, almost instantly, the necklace stopped glowing and went cold, but no sooner did it do that than a teen peer over Itsuki's shoulder, watching the necklace with a most amused grin. "I think you broke it.""You think so? But I didn't--" Itsuki looked up and spotted in the mirror a very un-Ian figure standing behind him. In fact, he didn't recognize him at all. The boy turned to face the stranger with a raised eyebrow. "You came from this, didn't you?" To clarify, he picked up the offending necklace. "I might've. Or from the bathtub... which one do you think sounds cooler?" he grinned as his comment annoyed Itsuki further and he continued, "Anyway, the name's Matareka." "Matareka... right. I'm just going to call you Mat." Itsuki slipped the necklace back over his head, now that it wasn't burning him for kicks anymore. "Me? No, that's my bunny's name!" The teen tried to look offended but couldn't help but to grin anyhow. A moment of silence passed between the two before Itsuki headed out the door. "Great. Another weirdo." Mat called out to him after he left, "Wait! I was just joking... His name is actually Lapaki! ...Eh, wait up!"

With a small sigh, Itsuki rolled over slowly. The boy had to be careful, he didn't want to move the bed and covers too much, or it may disturb his guest. Heh, 'guest' made it sound like it was temporary... Truth be told, Itsuki knew this was going to be a permanent sleeping arrangement for a long time to come. His gold eyes glanced over his shoulder to the young woman who shared the same tone of hair but in longer length. She slept peacefully and Itsuki just couldn't bring himself to look badly upon the woman in this state. Despite all the insults and gold looks he gave her, she couldn't be that bad. ...She was his sole provider, after all. It was just sharing a bed with Ian. It wasn't like there was any other choice. Ian was just a college student with a meager income and now she had three people to support. Mat had taken her place on the couch and the best she could do was share her old bed with her young Simu. Of course, Itsuki had not been keen to this at first. But, what else could they do? There is no other solution, it's the only choice we have, he kept thinking to himself. The boy just didn't want to admit that having a warm figure to sleep again was something he enjoyed. That would definitely ruin the reputation he had going... But it was mornings like these, with a serene breeze and warm liquid sun fluttering in from the window, it made waking up next to his caretaker a little more than bearable. Sometimes he found himself attached to her, generally this shocked the boy who was barely used to human contact at all, but he attributed it to a natural sleeping reaction. Yet, he couldn't explain why he occasionally continued to hold on as he watched her slumber. It did leave a heavy feeling in his stomach, though. Something about it all got to him and after some debating he decided on some unknown familiarity in her. flashback "...Why do you care?"
Ian shrugged as she finished a mouthful of cereal. Then she grinned at him.
"Because I'm your mom~," she teased. The simu felt his skin tingle and the hair on his neck bristle at the natural reaction of anger at the memory. Something bothered him about it all and he stared back at his caretaker's sleeping form, he whispered to himself. "No, you're not my... m-mom." The word didn't feel right to him. "...but maybe you could be an older sister." Yes, that seemed a little bit more acceptable. It didn't mean he was going to listen to her. No, of course not. But maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't mind spending time with her like this.
