Mine was $2000 when I bought it last year. If you only have $1000 to spend, you should stick with an Xbox360 for gaming and a laptop for work only. Well, you can actually get a damn good gaming laptop from HP for around $1400 at Best Buy... However, I don't do a lot of PC gaming anymore... I use computers for the internet and writing primarily, occasionally pirating. I own every new console, the only PC game that I'd really want soon is Spore... And that I'd rather build a desktop for. Hay, I am waiting for spore as well! You guys can just play the Wii version. I'm sure it will be just as good as the PC version... rolleyes Where did you hear about a Wii version, all I know is their will be a DS ans PC version. Will Wright confirmed it last week, while simultaneously stating he felt the Wii was the only next-gen console on the market.
