Ailein stared at the entrance of his favorite cafe and sighed. He didn't feel like going in there. He wanted to do something new. He located an outside table and sat down to debate what to do. He pulled out his trusty sketch book and flipped through a few drawings of his favorite animals. Nothing new there... a few scratched out tries at human form. He'd almost gotten it once.
"Hey girlie, whatcha doin?" A male asked grinning over Ailein's shoulder. "Oh, now that's a pretty puppy dog. Why don't I show you mine."
The boy started and looked over to him fearfully. There were two other's behind him. These men weren't here for the cafe. "I-I-I w-w-would r-ra-rather you le-leave..." He replied honestly, shutting his book and clutching it to his chest.
"Hey, Hey Tork! I think its a guy!" One of the henchmen called out looking disgusted. "He's in a dress for cryin' out loud!"
Tork, the one who had spoken first grinned. "Let's show him what we do to people like him."
Before Ailein knew it, he was on the ground and the men were swooping in like vultures.

Gabriel tucked his hands into the pockets of his jacket as he strolled down the street. Lyla was being particularly difficult, in the sense that she -it- was invading his personal privacy by sitting on his desk and observing everything he did with a cool stare. And yes, he was very well aware of how insane that would sound to anyone, much less to himself. The angel was creepy, period.
"Hey girlie, whatcha doin?"
"Oh, now that's a pretty puppy dog. Why don't I show you mine."
Gabriel scowled. And started walking further away.
Things did not look good for the girl. Guy. Really?
Gabriel paused briefly. Wow, really.
He didn't know what it was, maybe hearing the boy's stutter, and how the guy Tonks, Ponks, Pork, whatever, looked like Bella -okay, he didn't, really, Laila would kill him for that, he just reminded Gabriel forcefully of her- that made him turn and give a swift, piercing whistle.
"How about I show you my dog instead?"
Then he stepped back and watched. He didn't worry that his dog -Morag- wasn't exactly Labradorian in size. He didn't worry that the girl... guy would get bitten as well. And he sure as hell didn't worry when the men shot him looks heavy with the promise of menace and limb rearrangement for a minimal fee. All right, he worried a little, so he stepped back a bit more.
It took a while, but Morag was energetic and particularly frisky today -on account of being shut up in the room for 2 days and God did he regret it when he saw the mess and then the smell- but in the end, the lumbering idiots left, filling the air with curses. And the boy only got nipped once before Gabriel called his dog back to heel. Just a small n**, really. Maybe.

Ailein watched as the men fled and left him to his peace. The dog startled him and he held up his hand to ward it off which resulted in him getting bitten. He sat up and smoothed out his dress. The blood that had run from his nose was just a drip now.
His large honey eyes looked to Gabriel then to his dog. "Tha-tha-tha-thank y-y-y-you b-b-b-both." He said standing up very slowly, still eying the dog. He smiled despite himself and picked up his bag (Which they'd thrown) and took out his angel, fixing the limbs. "I-I-I'm v-v-very gr-gr-gr-grateful. P-P-Please le-le-let m-m-me g-g-get you and yo-your d-d-dog so-something."
He was staring at the man in front of him, taking in every detail. . Calm, collected, unshaken, cold. He even had a dog! He was so... cool.

How about decent jeans for yourself? And try pinching your nose. You're looking frightful.
"No thanks. I'm sorry about my dog biting you. He didn't mean it."
Really?
No idea.
Gabriel glanced down at Morag, who did not look repentant. It looked like it had finished whatever business it needed to as well, though, and will not soil his apartment again for another day, at least. He gave the boy a perfunctory nod, paused for a moment, "You better leave now as well, before the others come back." and strolled off back from where he came from, back home.

The boy glanced at his hand which had two tiny pinpricks of blood. He wiped his nose across his sleeve watched the other.
"W-wa-wait!" Ailein roughly gathered his things and ran to the man. He pulled out a muffin, nearly dropping his stuff, and used his teeth to unwrap it. "Yo-you're a go-g-g-good boy! A-a-aren't you?" He smiled as he offered the dog the treat. He couldn't help it. He loved animals and this one had saved his life.
"Wha-wha-what's his na-na-name?"

"His name is Morag."
And he'll be dead if you feed him that. Idiot.
He considered refusing the boy's offer, then decided it would be rude. As he watched his dog pounce on the treat eagerly though, he wondered if his politeness will be the cause of it's untimely death.
Don't be dramatic. You just don't want to find out if Morag will really empty everything half-digested onto the carpet like Laila says he will. It. Jeez.
And I really think you need to go home now, boy. Yes, you're grateful, yes, I can see that. I can also see that you're in a dress and that people are gawking. Sayonara. Please.
"Well, thank you. Goodbye then."

"M-M-Morag..." The boy's eyes lit up with joy when the dog took the treat so early. "Th-thank yo-you again..."
Ailein looked up at the man. He sensed that the man didn't want to be near him. After all he was in a dress. Ailein bowed deeply offering an apologetic smile. "Y-y-yes g-g-g-goodbye..."
With that the boy turned the opposite direction, putting away his stuff as he walked. He had to figure out how to get the blood off and out of the shirt before his sister saw it.

Gabriel gave a barely there smile and hastened off without letting it seem he was trying to walk away as quickly as seemly possible before the fates that hate him have the boy call him back for whatever reason that should not exist.
HOME. NOW.
Yes, yes..
