A gold-tipped tail flicked idly, tapping against the cool rock of the cave. They'd been lucky to find such a nice home. Every once in a while, the far away drip of water reached his ears. He'd heard it many times before, but it still caused his ears to flick. Not a bad reflex, he supposed. Yawning, he set his head on his paws. The view from the front of the cave was nice enough. Even though trees were mainly what he'd seen for his entire life, he never really got tired of them. Banded quills flopped as Kagayaku turned his head, glancing around the almost empty cave. There was a pile of berries in the corner that would last maybe a day onger. They'd have to remember to eat those soon.

Ponderosa, though a great fan of both Winter and the holidays, also enjoyed the summer time. The sun was shining brightly in the sky and the sound of laughter following her, encouraged her to run forward. How much had changed over the past months. Both her and Aku had become only closer and she was proud to finally call him hers. Though she always felt she belonged with her sisters and brothers, she was thrilled to have a place in which she was wanted every night. She loved Aku dearly and due to their affection, they had birthed four young kylan. Having just grown, Ponderosa now felt comfortable enough bringing them to meet the family. When they were just eggs, she remained solely in the cave, keeping them warm.

Still, he watched the pile of berries with an almost bored expression. No, he wasn't really hungry. And no, the berries didn't look very tasty at this point. Perhaps he should've gone with Ponderosa. It certainly would've been more fun than he was having at this point. Not to mention spending more time with their children. Children... The male looked up, seeing a few specks of cloud and sky through trees. For him, it'd all happened so fast. And yet, he felt like he belonged here with his lovely mate and cubs. 'You, a father?,' Syaoran had scoffed. Even Jiro had been a dad before him. Kagayaku huffed. Well, they would see now, wouldn't they? Pushing himself to a stand, he stepped out of the cave. He wanted to be with her. He was tired of being alone.

Though galloping about the field in front of their cave, Ponderosa caught the scent that drifted with the light breeze. Her mate had come to join them and she would show him how thankful she was of this. Glancing back towards her four cubs, she laughed, "First one to daddy will win half of the fresh berries!" And taking off, she began towards Aku, a grin on her maw. The babies behind her didn't hesitate to follow after. The berries they have just collected had been fresh and were a favorite of many. Ponderosa was a smaller kylan and already her babies were nearly her size, but she was quick. When Aku and her had first been dating, she made it a game to chase after him in an attempt to get his attention. Now, now they were chasing each other.
Standing out from her family was one of the smaller kylan babies. She had not quite reached the size of her brothers and it was not clear whether or not she would. She was called Ginger in celebration of their favorite season and because of her interesting color. Though duller in bright, her personality was perhaps one of the brightest. With a wild grin, she giggled on her way towards her father.

Okay, so maybe leaving the safety of the cave hadn't been the smartest idea. Loneliness and a great willingness to play had lured him out. Yet, now there was a herd pounding the ground and heading in his direction. Paws shifted against the ground as he hesitated. What to do? With such a large group, they could have him surrounded in a matter of seconds. Each of the cubs had inherited the love and abilities for this game from their parents. Finally, a gold-tipped tail flicked to the right, signalling his choice. In a second, his body had twisted to the left and his paws had pushed him off. If they didn't turn to fast, maybe he could make it around them.
Another small female, colored like her father and spotted like her mother, sped along the ground next to her sister. Kyuuka rather enjoyed chasing daddy. That was obvious, just from the look on her face. Now, she certainly wasn't the best at chase. Turning was her bane. Often times she found herself slipping in an attempt to turn sharply and landing on her side. That never stopped her from trying, however.
