I was thinking earlier about what we know regarding the Von Helson and Gambino families, and also what we don't know... and a few things occured to me.
1. Isle de Gambino used to be Isle de Nativ - we know that Gambino goes into the native run casino with one gold coin and comes out owning the island.
Who owned the island first?
2. Before owning the shop in Barton; Ian's family owned a shop on Isle de Nativ, but Gambino forced Ian out.
Ian's family... the blonde woman - his Mother; this would suggest that she too lived on the island BEFORE becoming involved with Gambino.
3. The picture in the manga, where the woman is holding the baby whom we presume to be Gino, shows her at a similar / same age as to when she was 'rescuing' both Ian and Louie - meaning that she'd been with Von Helson first; could the Von Helsons have owned Isle de Nativ?
4. As Ian gets older, Gambino forces him to leave his shop and go live in Barton - could this be a proximity problem? Something on the island that could influence his control? Or was he hiding the man away from the Von Helsons?
4. We know from various newsroom articles that the tension between the Gambino and Von Helson families was never really to do with business - could it be more than just taking away Vlad's 'woman' - perhaps his home as well?
5. Vlad says in the manga that she's been naughty and isn't 'one of them' any more. Could she be the very first test case for the G-Virus?
Hmmmm.... so, anyone got anything else to ponder apon - or possible answers?
mrgreen
