if you shave, there might be little nicks or something that would make the soap sting a bit.. I think you don't need soaps because water works just fine with a bit of rubbing with a cloth or your hand or whatever I've found. The v****a is a very sensitive area. I don't believe anything's wrong, it's just that the soap is too strong for the area regardless if you've had sex or not.

It is safe to wash the labia with soap. However, you should never try to wash your v****a. The v****a requires no cleaning; it takes care of itself kind of like your eyeball does. When women douche or try to put soap into their v****a, it can cause some nasty infections. So when you wash, make sure you're just washing the outside parts (the labia, also called the lips).
As Fiaroka also said, be very careful if you shave. Not only can small cuts hurt like heck (especially when in contact with things like soap), but shaving your pubic hair can also increase your chances of getting infections down there!
Always make sure you are well lubricated before you start having sex. Lack of lubrication can cause pain, discomfort, bleeding, tears in the v****a, and a sore feeling that can last a while! It's possible that if you were not lubricated enough, your v****a sustained small cuts and tears. You could feel pain if soap gets into those cuts.
If you do not think it is any of those things, then make an appointment with your ob-gyn.

If you mean v****a as in the outside area, then it's safe. Some women have bad reactions to oily soaps like Dove. Before making an appointment with a doctor, you should try getting Vagisil body wash. You'll find it in your feminine section or the soap section. It cleans, but is meant to be gentle for women.
