Who is your favourite practioner? Or playwright? either works?
I can't say I know of that many, mainly just the ones I've studied, but I love Artaud. Although you've gotta love Stanislavski for his naturalistic approach Artaud is just so... wierd... and fun. Who else would write "The whore bites Gods wrist. An immense jettison of blood shoots across the stage, and we can see the priest making the sign of the cross duing a flash of lightning" as a stage direction. That is one play I have to see.

So, favourite pratcitioners anyone?

Really I just wanted to make a topic that wasn't about musical theatre which I know very little about...

Playwrights are some of the freakiest people in the theatre world. I love them all.

I'm a fan of Beckett and Brecht. Existentialism rocks my socks. But Shakespeare will always be my literary god. 3nodding

I'm not a fan of Brecht, I don't know much about him but what I've seen of his style it 'aint my thing. Beckett I like, I went to see Fragments in London and it was awesome. I've read a few of his other plays as well although have yet to get my hands on a copy of Waiting for Godot which I must read. And of course Shakespeare rules supreme

Oscar Wilde heart heart heart Forever and always my favourite anything.

Tom Stoppard, whose 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead' I currently obsess over.

And of course, you can't not mention Shakespeare. I think it's the law. Though I also love Marlowe.

And Eugene O'Neill, and Neil Simon, and...

They cannot give that man enough awards for what he writes. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with him. I would sell my right kidney to see Coast of Utopia.
