So... JRB he's one of my favorite composers and he was just in my hometown doing a Master Class that I attended. I'm wondering what you guys think of "Songs for a New World," "The Last 5 Years," and his other works.
For instance What's you favorite song of his. For me it's "The New World" from Songs for a New World. "Still Hurting" from L5Y is really good too.
Oh and does anyone know about his new musical "13"?

Jason Robert Brown was really really popular at my high school. I love Songs for a New World. L5Y I have yet to see, unfortunately. I love the music though.
I've not heard about his new one. I'll have to look it up! ^_^

OH my god! I really love his work. Especially last five years, my favorite songs are I can do better then that and see I'm smiling. From songs for the new world I really love Christmas lullaby (guess that's the name) and Not afraid of anything.

I've not heard good things about 13, and it seems like a ploy to draw in the tween audience. However, I love Parade and was just in it and the music just really sticks in your head. My favorite of his tunes, though? I really like Blues: Feel the Rain Fall

A Master Class!!! eek I'm jealous! crying But being stuck in the midwest, I haven't been able to actually SEE any of his productions. I have The Last Five Years cd, but I've only heard a few songs from 'Songs for a New World' and 'Parade'. I haven't heard any music from 13, but I heard some friends talking about it, and said that he stated "I don't know what the big deal with High School Musical is...I think 13 is a lot more interesting." Hilarious stuff!
Anyway, my favorite song by JRB has to be "If I Didn't Believe In You" from L5Y. If only it wasn't the 3rd year in a row someone is singing that for the musical theatre class at school. But I hear he's really good, so I hope I can hear it eventually. 3nodding

I adore Jason Robert Brown!
I saw L5Y at a local theatre and over the summer my friend was in Songs for a New World. My favorites change depending on my mood. Haven't heard his other stuff though crying
need to get on top of that
