with the right "other cards" then this card can be your way to win, but be sure to have all sorts of saves and counters, one little card, that most would find a waste of time, can end the game for you as well...

I think that Phage is a terrible card. If I'm going to spend 7 or more mana, I'd just go for Akroma, Angel of Wrath... way more reliable than Phage, and less color reliant.
