The Wyvern Nest
The Nest refers to the mountainous region in the middle of the desert. High, nearly impossible to climb rock walls surround it, with peaks going into the clouds. It gives off a strong magic aura, as though something very powerful is sealed within it. This is definitely the case. Outside of the Mage Towers, lies the greatest library in the known world, with the entirety of the Teiran Public Library contained within, along with roughly a fifth of Laos' private libraries he built while in the Citadel. Along with a large demonic population, they are heavy users of magic. Surrounded by inhospitable desert, combined with the fact that there are massive rock walls have pretty much stopped all explorers. Mages and Wizards have come to the rock walls, but have found a barrier to stop phasing through the rock. With no way to look in due to enchantments, all experiments with teleportation have failed several of which have ended in the gruesome demise of several well-known wizards.
There are a number of hidden observation posts and their tunnels to the inside high in the rock.
Inside the Wyvern Nest
On the inside of the rock walls is a paradise. With an area of about fifteen square miles, it is home to several thousand people and several thousand Wyverns. There are a number of small farm communities, all within an hour's walk or so, with a central town. Each hamlet is neat and organized, with the houses arrayed in a circle, with each farmer's plot near their home, with a warehouse for food. The center of these hamlets is known as the Town, and it is in the center of a shallow lake, which is spring fed. A number of well maintained stone bridges lead to the Town, which is on an island in the middle. The Town surrounds the Monument/Tower that reminds everyone of the loss that the Wyverns had again against Laos. Thousands of names are on the tower, and the names surround said tower. Surrounding the tower is the Town itself, which consists of the administration buildings, Inns, a brewery, and about three dozen armor and weapon smiths. The Library is also found here, though all of the magic tomes and other assorted tomes of power are stored within the Tower, where Auren has locked himself in. He does come out every once in a while for some fresh air and to wherever needs it most.
The majority of the people who are within the Nest feed, armor, and clothe the Wyverns, whom protect the citizens of the Nest, and help in all roles. Many Wyverns are 'Weekend Warriors' with few active riders who are on duty like a normal military. This means that a lot of Wyverns who have been born in the Nest are quite familiar with farming techniques, and use themselves and assist the community as beasts of burden, and general strength. The fact that Auren's experiments with giving the wyverns limited telepathy were ludicrously successful, means that each wyvern is also a member of the community.
The communities themselves are a strange mixture of Demon, Half Demon, and Humans. The demonic population are for the most part the original Wyverns that survived the mess in the Laos era. Some of the demons are the children of the surviving Wyverns, while Half-Demons are the result of Wyverns marrying people from the villages.
The Inhabitants of the Nest
The Wyverns (as the demonic citizens are called. More in reference to their old mercenary regiment rather then their mounts) are the oldest people there, having gotten the agelessness of demon hood. None of them have real magic, other then doing very low levels, like being able to set fires, purify dirty water, things along that line.
Half-Demons, are the breed between Human and Wyvern, and all have benefited, for the most part. Most can cast very, very low level magic. A few tricks to make life easier, is all. Some did have the potential to become greater, and Auren took them under his wing for 'Projects.' Of course, nobody has seen them again, leaving the populace to wonder if he finally cracked. They all share hints of their ancestory, with the human being far more dominant. All have red eyes, and are always a healthy tan color, no matter how long you may leave them out of the sun.
Humans, are well, Human. What more do you want. Far outnumbering the demonic population, they go about their lives. All adults have basic military training, in case 'Something Got In.' Other then that, they are average, and most are Teiran or Esperanza in ancestry.
Then there are the wyverns themselves. At this point, all Wyverns have limited telepathy. They can speak to you in your head, or anyone else for that matter, and can pick one person out of a crowd, to speak to, etc. That is the extent of their telepathy. They cannot 'hear' your thoughts, or anything like that, the only exceptions being their Bond Mate and other Wyverns. The Wyverns of the Nest are vastly different, all of them being stronger, tougher, and bigger then their regular counter-parts. Auren has experimented with adding telepathy and Bonding, and it has been proven to a huge success. The reborn wyverns are still around, and they are for the most part, the major 'producers' of wyverns so to speak.
Major Developments within the Nest
Auren, along with a few master blacksmiths, have stumbled onto the process of making Rolled Steel, which is basically superior to all methods of making steel. Rolled Steel weapons and armor are stronger, stay sharper longer, and are a tad bit more rust resistant. Combined with this development, along with new tactical ideas, have transformed the Defenders of the nest into a fearsome force, as the Nest is ringed with the remains of countless expeditions, all traces of the Wyverns themselves removed, leaving only shattered wagons, no survivors, and bleached bones exposed to the elements.
There has been a lot of magical experimentation done here. People don't get sick anymore, along with various magic improvements to their health. However, darker things are to said to be going on in inside the tower. Volunteers are occasionally taken in and never seen again.

Yar, RP here with Shiro's Wyverns characters. Regular characters cannot show up. It's in a desert. surrounded by fifteen thousand foot tall mountains. That and you'd be killed by the Wyverns if you got near it. For now. Once stuff happens, other people would be allowed in.
