well... I just BOMBED my first QM quiz this year. awesome, right? it was so stupid too, I HADN'T LOOKED AT THAT QUESTION and I was like "yeah yeah, I'll know how to do it, I'll follow through" and I forgot to follow through. I was supposed expand an operator exp(i(omega)) given the operator omega in a basis |i'> and I feel like such an idiot cause I had it's eigen values and it's spectral representation and all, and I was like 'hmmm, I'm just gonna give them the diagonal matrix". I feel so incompetent.
it was the third out of three questions, and the first two I got perfect, and I know this cause they were homework questions so we had the solutions, but the last one was also in the hwk and it was the one thing I just reviewed and didn't write out.
I felt a sense of dread during the quiz, feeling I had forgotten something, but unable to recall what it was. oh, the horror.
