Darrin waking up for the first time in very long time
August 7, 2005 Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin yawns as he opens his golden eyes, stretching his body out before he licks his maw. He blinks in confusion as he could see people and 'taurs staring at him, he automatically looks around for the place to hide. Madness_insanity "Fuzzy!" she says excitedly and jumps up, "You up now!" Caitlyn HellCloud Fuzzy? He wonders to himself as he eyes the female cattaur warily, he slowly stands up before he put his hands on back of his head smiling nervously. "Umm....hi?" He squeaks Madness_insanity "I be Tempesss" she said, a huge smile on her face. "Me and me frends been waiting for you to wake up so you can pay games wit us." Charlotte Kitsune From off to one side, Maia chuckles. "Yes, Tempest here has been waiting quite some time to meet you..."Meanwhile, Charlotte whispers at Madness. "I've heard Maia talking about how some Cattaurs have strange abilities. Gifted in types of magic, things like that... though I'm not really sure what that might entail. I guess just watch Tempest. She might end up doing something like that later..." Madness_insanity Madness smiled "More ways for her to get into trouble," she chuckled. "Darrin!" She walked over and gave him a quick hug, " Darrin frend now!" She watched him and frowned, he didn't seem to happy to her. Caitlyn HellCloud Caitlyn leans against the tree as she watches Darrien with slight concerned eyes. She understands that Darrien is nervous and not sure who is friend or foe to him right now. She pads over to Charolette and Madness smiling lightly "Are they so adorable?" she muses Darrien squeaks in suprise as he backs away from the female, hissing quietly. "No friends.. I don't know you" Madness_insanity She nodded, " I'm Madness," and nodded toward the shocked cattaur, "and that's Tempest. She may be over-friendly," She frowned. Tempest stood shocked. All the other taurs had happily been her friend. "Bu...But why not?" she said, crushed.Caitlyn HellCloud Caitlyn smiles lightly as she looks at Temptest and Darrin. "I am Caitlyn and that fuzzhead is Darrin. He is kinda nervous since he is new to this area. But I am sure Darrin will warm up to her...." He reassures before adding "I hope" under her breath Darrin eyes Tempest warily as he offers her a faint smile. "Can't be too careful of who you befriend with..." He mutters Madness_insanity She hissess at the lion taur and runs over to Mad, "Go home," she asks, "I sleep." Mad nodded, " Nice meeting you. Good night everyone," she said before heading out. ((I have to go, night)) Caitlyn HellCloud Darrien blinks at the female before he looks at Caitlyn confusedly, rubbing the back of his neck as he pads over to Caitlyn. "Are all females like that?" he says in puzzled voice Caitlyn nods at Mad before she grins down at Darrien. "Oh no....take some time to get to know that female because from what I learn, she is only other cattaur beside you." Darrien blinks at Caitlyn before he looks at retreating figures with a slight smile. "....oh...." Charlotte Kitsune ((Sorry, had to disappear for a bit... xp )) Charlotte watches the interaction between Darrin and Tempest, her brow furrowing for a bit before she finally settles back into a relaxed position on her patch of grass. "Tempest is just glad to see another of her kind, that's all."Maia stands to approach Caitlyn. The adolescent Centaur has an odd aire of responsibility about her, as if she is older than she appears. "Welcome to the Isles," she says in a gentle tone. "Please stay as long as you desire... my name is Maia of the Proudtail tribe. You may not see many other Taurs for a bit, because my kind can be quite reclusive."

Darrin's first taste of catnip and getting addicted August 9, 2005 Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin stands behind Caitlyn as he peers curiously at Sei and Charolette. "Are they good people? good cattaurs?" He inquires his keeperCaitlyn smirks at Darrin as she pokes his nose affectionately. "We are not cattaurs.. we are humans. And yes, they are good people... and you should meet more of 'taurs" Darrin eyes Caitlyn warily as he crosses his arms Seiei Riome blinked at the kitty and ran towrds it. "KITYYYY!!!" he screamed and atempted to tackle the kitty. " Kitties so cute!" 4laugh
blinks "Rio.. I don't think the kitty wants you to jump on it!! Come back here!!" gonk Charlotte Kitsune ((Eeeee, I've got to finish coloring my NPC cattaur! He's a cheetah, just so ya know.)) Charlotte waves at Darrin. "Hello there little one!" ^__^ Then, looking up at Caitlyn, she asks "how's he getting along so far?"From behind a tree, a pair of amber eyes glow, and a large spotted male cattaur watches the smaller lion.Caitlyn HellCloud (( lucky you.. I would kill for tiger one ninja )) Darrin eeps as he sees Rio running toward him. "This kittie is not cute! this kittie doesn't want to be tackled!" He exclaims before he moves farther behind Caitlyn, peeking at Charlotte warily before he tentatively waves back. "Hi ma'am" He squeaksCaitlyn chuckles as she grins at Charloette then at Riome. "He is getting better... still nervous and wary but he will get better or I will have to dump him here one day and just leave.." She grins as Darrin shoots her a wide-eyed glare. Charlotte Kitsune ((For some reason the cattaurs strike me as being the most fun to color... I suppose because I just like big cats so much.)) Charlotte chuckles as she watches Darrin and Riome. "Er, Riome... the kitty's kinda shy! Don't you know about the special way to lure out a shy kitty?" ninja Caitlyn HellCloud (( *is tempted to show off pictures of her cats* I love big cats.. tigers especially. The funny thing is that I have started the tradition in my family to name cats after spices xd )) Caitlyn chuckles as she sidesteps, leaving Darrin in wide open before she pads over to the tree. She climbs up between two branches and sits there watching Darrin interact with others. Darrin twitches as he hears Charolette's comment. "Not going to work.. nu-huh!!" He shakes his head as he crosses his arms defiantlySeiei Rio smirks "Here kitty kitty kitty! Here pretty kitty!" He took a step closer. "Don't you wanna be friends kitty?" Rio smiled at crept even closer. Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin twitches once again at the call as he steps backward, he turns his head sideway and eyes Rio warily from the corners of his eyes. "I am not pretty.. I am a boy!" He grumbles before he perks up slightly at the sound of being friends. "Friends... o.O whats that?" Charlotte Kitsune ((Yay, I'm glad you like her Britain! 4laugh And I'd love to see your kitties, Caitlyn. I lurv cats. <3 ))
Charlotte rummages around in her traveling bag until she finds a small wrapped parcel. "Tschida gave me this... he said it might come in handy if I found any wild little felines running around. I guess we'll see..."
She sets the plant down in front of her in the grass, plucking a few of the leaves and rubbing them between her fingers to draw out the scent. ((Catnip. xd )) Seiei "A boy? Well of course! No wonder Tempest has been wanting to talk to you...." He grumbles... "But your handsom. Better?" He blinked. Caitlyn HellCloud (( heres the link to my photobucket account dedicated to my pets. Will add more when I move back home 3nodding )) Darrin perks up considerably more when he smells the catnip and sees it. o.O it smells so good and so... intoxicating... he thought to himself as he slowly creeps toward the bag, his body close to the ground. "mew...?" he paws at the catnip before he swiftly pounces on it sniffing and gnawing on it "catnippppppp!!" he exclaims before he eyes Rio. "Yep yep I am handsome.. and who are you?" o.O*edited to add Darrin's response to Rio. Seiei "I'm Riome and I'm the oldest!!" He smiled then thought "Well second oldest... Maia's the oldest.. and what about you Fuzzy?" Charlotte Kitsune Charlotte laughs, letting Darrin maul the bag of "happy cat plant" as much as he wants. "Well, guess I'll have to tell Tschida that stuff works!" Caitlyn HellCloud Caitlyn grins in amusement at Darrin and the "happy cat plant" before she shakes her head, stretching her body out. "Well... catnip will always work unless that cat have particular good willpower to resist the lure of it" She chuckles Darrin rolls over on his back while clawing the bag of catnip growling playfully before he dives for it, gnawing on the leaves. "Fuzzy?? My name is Darrin.. o.O but I guess you can call me Fuzzy.." He looks up at Riome with a leaf in his mouthSeiei "Why are you eating that 'stuff' Fuzzy?" He walked over and poked him. "It has that icky green stuff that plants make in it!" Rio said as he looked around at the plants and ploped his bottom on the ground. "You should eat friuit not plants silly!" He smiled. Caitlyn HellCloud He slants his eyes toward Rio warily as he contiunes to gnaw on one leaf, pulling the bag closer to his body while he growls. "That stuff happens to be my favorite kind of food beside meat. ...ooooo..spinny..." He falls over on his back and rolls around on the bag, smushing the leaves up.

"I am the king! I am the....ooo Amazon..O.O adult cattaur!"
Darrin's first meeting with Ceryn and Tschida's first appearance
August 9-10 2005 Caitlyn HellCloud >_> *pokes Sei repeatedly* <_< Caitlyn HellCloud *is being poked back* now its war!! *pokes Sei with vegenance* domokun Madness_insanity *puts on reflecting poke armor* XD Seiei x.o *runs and hides behind Darrin* Amiliane Yikes, theres a lot poking going on in here. Marcella glares at anyone thinking of touching her. stare Seiei Rio blinks "Poke battle!!" he runs from place to place poeking everyone and everything. "Poke poke poke!" n.n Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin blinkblinks as he eyes Sei whom is hiding behind him. ">_O what are you doing behind me? I am not your sheild" He speaks before he drags Sei in front of him. "There.. you are MY sheild" blaugh *pokes Marcella* Seiei No way!! *jumps behind him again* Those people are good pokers! o.x Amiliane Marcella stares at Caitlyn. "Do not touch me! No one touches me until I allow them the privilege." She shakes her head and stomps her front hooves.awww...you are too adorable and young to really be threatening Marc. Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin blinks at Sei before he shakes his head. "But I am just a baby..! go and hide behind your 'taur or hide behind Maia.. they are bigger than me" >_> Seiei But your cute!! *pinches your cheek* sooo adorable! 4laugh Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin swats at Sei's hands as he moves away from her twitching. "Who said you can touch me? I am the lion and I am special.. treat me like a king I am!" He puffs his chest out trying to look big and regal Seiei >.< YOur such a cute lion!! *hugs Darrin* Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin flails as he is being hugged. ">_< NO NO NO!! I am not cute! I am king! I am supposed to be scary and regal looking!" He exclaims as he moves backward "Caitlyn!!!!" gonk Seiei Come back! *tackles* I luff you!! 4laugh Caitlyn HellCloud "agghh!!!!! get away from me, woman!! You can't tackle, touch, hug, or even talk to me like that. You will address to me "Your highness" or "Your royalness" or all of that respect thing" He jumps away just in time before Sei could tackle him down domokun Caitlyn HellCloud (( >_>;; shame is it? )) Darrin twitches as he sees tears being spilt before he turns his head away. "I am not going to be nice.. I am not going to be nice.. >_< GRAH!!!! I hate this.." He grumbles to himself as he pads back to Sei. "I didn't mean to make you cry.. o.O "Seiei -.- your mean go away! crying Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin shrugs as he pads away from Sei, but couldn't help but to feel guilty. ">__< stupid stupid poopiehead!!" He curses to himself as he pounces on his smushed bag of catnip and start gnawing on it Amiliane Marcella goes to try and block Sei from Darrin. "Cat, you shouldn't upset humans, they are either guardians or will be guardians for the taurs. You should be nice and not make them cry....but don't let them touch you unaware..." She mutters the last part. Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin snorts as he eyes the female that stands in front of him while he was gnawing on the catnip. "humans are probably either guardians or will be guardians for the taurs but they should respect us as well. If I don't want to be touched then don't touch me" He mutters Amiliane Mars (short for Marcella >.<) snorts in disgust, "I don't intend to touch you, you look to fuzzy. But I don't think that lets you make her cry. Thats just mean to do." Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin smirks as he quirks his eyebrow at the female in front of him. "At least I am the king.. and I am not too fuzzy! you are" He rolls his eyes as he bites one leaf off and chews on it. "And she started it" -.- Amiliane Marcella tilts her head and looks confused, "King? I haven't heard of a king. Anyways, I thought they had to be bigger." She decided to ignore the fuzzy comment since she knew who was right... Harperking Ceryn delicately walked her way throught the forest. Hearing voices, she stopped to listen, the feathers on her armband swaying gently in the breeze. Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin rolls his eyes as he smirks at Marcella, "so typical of you females not to know whats going on in male taur's world." He replies while he stands up with his smushed up bag of catnip in his hands. "Now if you would excuse me..." He saunters past the female Amiliane "Does he even know what those big words mean?" She wondered aloud to herself, "Anyways, he will be no king for me. I wonder what was wrong with him." She contuined talk aloud, uncaring if someone heard.((Yikes, I don't think Marcella will be liking Darrin any time soon. O_O Whooo...go Ceryn! Mars would like too, but she's still to young to catch onto things. sweatdrop )) Caitlyn HellCloud (( o_O I think Darrin wouldn't be very likeable....but we will see how things goes)) Darrien stops in midstep while he turns his head toward the black and white female smirking. "Why don't you try me? and I am the king, whenever you like it or not. So you better get used to that fact." He says in sardonic toneAmiliane The little painted taur shook her head starting to look upset and confused, "No, you will not be king to me. You are my age!" ((Marcella by then will be into fighting and such. She'd just be stubborn...and I'm hoping not angsty >.< I couldn't deal with that.)) Harperking Hearing the note of upset in the young one's latest words, Ceryn decided it was time to step in. Though not much older herself, she had already had lessons in equality and nobility drilled in her.
"Heyla! I am Ceryn. I don't think we have met yet." she said in greeting. Caitlyn HellCloud (( go gentle on him >_>;; )) Darrin swishes his tail back and forth as he turns around, facing the little painted taur with a half smirk on his face. "Theres many kings and queens out there that are younger than the age of teenager." He comments nonchanlantlyCaitlyn HellCloud Darrin blinks as he gets greeted by another female. He quirks his eyebrow at the brown deer-colored female taur before he offers her a polite smile. "Hello there Ceryn, I am Darrin Irae but you can call me King Darrin because I will be the future king when I become an adult" He puffs his chest out Amiliane ((Yikes, this will be very contrasting XD)) Marcella who was to young to get into a real arugment jumped when she heard another voice, "You scared me!" When Mars settled down again she looked over the other female. She was older but looked a little alike. "You! you have hooves like me!" The name didn't even stay in the female's head.Harperking Ceryn couldn't stand it.
"King?" she half laughed. "You are just the fuzzy that slept for so long! Besides, I am an Amazon like Harper. We don't have kings!" Harperking Ceryn looked over at the younger female. "We do look kinda alike! I've only see one other like us. What is your name?" Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin twitches as he glares at Ceryn, he is not sure what to say because Ceryn is slightly bigger than him and he just paws at the ground. " You are not an Amazon! you are taur and you are under my control!" He tries to make his voice sound all big and mighty. Amiliane Mars had decided a while ago just to ignore the fuzzy thing, so she just talked to Ceryn, "Marcella, or as my guardian says, Mars. I've only see you and that fuzzy thing." She pointed to Darrin, "Are there more?" Harperking The cervitaur couldn't hold backher indignation.
"Am too an Amazon! Harper said so and made me part of her tribe and everything! That's what the feathers mean, fuzzyhead! You have just never had a chance to meet one before!"
And she stuck out her tongue at him. Harperking Amiliane Mars had decided a while ago just to ignore the fuzzy thing, so she just talked to Ceryn, "Marcella, or as my guardian says, Mars. I've only see you and that fuzzy thing." She pointed to Darrin, "Are there more?" Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin rolls his eyes at Ceryn's verbal barb as he pokes the female's tongue. "You are older than me, does that so called tribe "Amazon" teach you some manners? Never disrespect your king" He nods sagely at both females Amiliane ((Well...Mars will be needing someone to teach her how to use that sword when she gets it...Ami is useless for arms. She a book geek. XD)) "I've heard the name Maia, my guardian has said that name." Mars added, still blantenly ignoring Darrin. "Amazon? whats that?" She asked slowly, unsure of the new word.Harperking "Well, IF Amazons had a king I would respect that person. We don't have kings, though, only queens 'cause we don't allow boys to stay near us 'cause they are stinky or something," she shrugged. "Harper hasn't explained that part yet. Hey! She once said her full name was Harperking! Maybe she is your king!" Ceryn danced a little in excitement. She wasn't sure what a king really was, but it had to be better for her guardian to be one that for some little fuzzy! Harperking Amiliane ((Well...Mars will be needing someone to teach her how to use that sword when she gets it...Ami is useless for arms. She a book geek. He retorted before he sticks his tongue out at Ceryn before he gnaws on the catnip, not sure why he is being ganged up on. But all he know for sure is that he doesn't like to argue with anybody Amiliane Mars finally looked back over at the other young taur, "What is not right with you?" She asked quickly then looked away, back to the female. "Staff fighting? What does a staff do? Is it like a squirrel?" She asked innocently.((What will Darrin be like when he's not On catnip? xd )) Harperking Sitting down near him, Ceryn thought for a moment on the lessons that Harper had taught. She didn't want the younger 'taur to feel picked on.
"Nope, we don't have a king. I am sure of it. But I know that a real leader wouldn't try to make the people that they lead feel bad. A real leader puts their followers before themselves and their needs." She was quite proud of remembering that! Harperking Amiliane Mars finally looked back over at the other young taur, "What is not right with you?" She asked quickly then looked away, back to the female. "Staff fighting? What does a staff do? Is it like a squirrel?" She asked innocently.((What will Darrin be like when he's not On catnip? xd )) ((forgot the little guy was on catnip at the moment! )) Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin contiunes to chew on catnip as he watches Ceryn with wary eyes before he sits down on his stomach. "......really?? You know alot about being a leader, Ceryn." He responds in uncertain voice as he tilts his head to side while he tucks the smushed up bag of catnip under his front paws, eyeing Ceryn warily. Amiliane Mars who had settled down on the damp grass, laid there listening to Ceryn. Somehow the little one had fallen alseep without her blanket, which was by a tree a few yards away. She had been visualing the staff and how to possibly use one. She fell alseep dreaming about wacking Darrin with a long peice of wood.((Sorry, I've gotta go. But I should be back later, hence why Marcella is sleeping. xd )) Harperking Ceryn gave a big sigh. "Harper says I have lots to learn. She is always trying to teach me stuff. Some of it fun, like the staff fighting! Other things are a little boring, though." she gave a little shrug. ((I have a clear image of her little happy dance, btw. )) Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin peers at Ceryn curiously, having newfound respect for her. "......you think you could teach this little king things you have learned from that Harper lady?" He says in curious voice as he tilts his head to side while gnawing more on the chewed up leaf Harperking "I...I guess I could!" she said brightly. "'Cept for some of the Amazon stuff at least. Harper says some of that is su'pose to be secret." Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin tries not to perk up as he hears Ceryn accepting his request and he manages to nod once. "secret? why?" he says in puzzled voice before he stretches his front paws out Harperking "Dunno. It just is I guess. It's one of those things that just is!" she laughed softly. "Harper always says that when I ask too many questions. She is funny sometimes, but other times I think she gets real sad." Caitlyn HellCloud "Ooohhh.... all right. Why does this Harper lady gets real sad? where is other amazon 'taurs or humans? why are you guys here?" He fires every questions at older female 'taur without taking a breath Harperking Ceryn blinked in astonishment at the barrage of questions.
"I think she misses her family. There aren't any other Amazons here - we're the only ones. She rescued me from some wolves that killed my mom." She sat quiet for a minute, wndering about the taur that was her mother. She didn't really remember anything about her life before Harper, but sometimes in her dreams she thought she could hear someone singing.
"What about you? Whay re you here?" Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin blinks at her question before he looks down at his paws, srunching up his face trying to think. ".... I.... don't .....know." He hesistates before he looks up at Ceryn. "But I remember what my parents looks like, they are pretty. I think they either abandoned me or got killed... I don't know... " He sighs as he frowns, feeling ashamed that he couldn't remember his own family or why he is here. Harperking "That's OK, Harper is my family now. She adopted me and everything. See this feather here?" she pointed to a white feather on her armband "That means I am part of her tribe! I bet your parents were nice - and fuzzy, too!" she added with a giggle. Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin looks up at Ceryn with a half-hearted smile before he nods. "I can remember my mommy... she was so pretty..." He mumurs as he closes his eyes, capturing the memory of his mother smiling down at him when they were still together. Theres a sad pang in his chest and tears start to well up in his eyes. "....mama....." he starts to cry for his deceased mother Charlotte Kitsune ((Aaaah, so sad!! gonk I hope you don't mind me joining in, guys...)) A voice floats into the glade... deep and soothing, though it's not possible to say where the voice is coming from. Whoever is speaking must be hidden by the trees...
"Ahh, young one, do not cry. Your mother loves you still... even from the place where Spirit resides."Harperking Ceryn looked around to see if there were any adults nearby to help out. She wasn't quite sure what to do with the little liontaur now that she had seen the soft past his bluster. Seeing no one, she scooted over closer to him and softly patted him on the back. Not sure what else to do, she began to sing a song that Harper often sang at at night to him, a song from a land far from where they now were and in a language neither of them knew. Caitlyn HellCloud (( not at all Charlotte ^.^ more the merrier! )) Darrien sniffles as he wipes the tears off his cheeks before he looks around for that eerily soothing and calming voice. "bu..but... I want my mama..." his voice breaks once again as he dissolves into tears. He didn't move away or do anything when Ceryn moved closer to soothe this young liontaur but his crying ceased slightly when he hears her sing.Harperking ((Join on in! Ceryn and I will have to be leaving soon sad )) Ceryn startled slightly at the new voice, but continued to sing when she saw that it was soothing the young one.Charlotte Kitsune ((I know Juu!... sometimes I keep the same outfit for weeks, but with all the new items I've been splurging for lately, I just want to play around with it. xd )) There's the slightest noise -- it could be nothing more than the wind rustling the tree branches above. An adult Cattaur seems to materialize out of the shadows, standing far enough back as to not frighten the two little ones away. "You will see your mother again, sirrah. But not until the time is right. Such is the way of Spirit." His amber eyes are lazy, half-lidded, but kind. "Until then, you must rely on your own strength... and on the strength of others, when the need arises." ((Eeeeeeeee, I finished him!!! xd heart My yummy cheetahman... )) Caitlyn HellCloud (( lucky you Charlotte.... now I want tiger one! domokun )) Darrin bristles as he jumps up to his paws, pawing the ground in nervous manner because the male cattaur is second adult beside his parents he encountered in his entire life. He frowns at the male adult cattaur before he sighs. ".......you are right... I need to do that." He agrees but he feels indimidated by the adult's size, he couldn't help but to squeak nervouslyCharlotte Kitsune The cheetah Taur lays down in the grass, folding his paws in front of him, and smiling in slight amusement as he watches the smaller Taurs out of the corner of his eye. "I've been watching you... don't worry, I won't hurt you." A deep rumble begins in his chest; he's purring. "I am Tschida." Harperking Ceryn scrambled to her feet and stood between the stranger and the little cattaur. She wasn't sure about the stranger, but knew she couldn't let him hurt her young friend. Caitlyn HellCloud Darrin contiunes to make chirping sounds as he stands there, frozen with awe and terror. He hears the purring and he automatically purrs as well, he peeks out from behind Ceryn's body. "You are like me, but you have different fur color and pattern.... I am Darrin, the future king." He nods quickly Charlotte Kitsune (( I am slowly building my army of NPCs! B'whahaha! )) Tschida's tail flicks slowly, his eyes closing in an expression of extreme relaxation... he doesn't seem affected by how startled the little ones are at seeing him. "Yes, we are both of the Solace tribe." He opens one eye lazily, peering at Darrin. "Do you know what the Solace tribe is?"

I must see! whee )) Caitlyn HellCloud (( *is in envy of Charlotte and NPCS* )) Darrin shakes his head as he slowly pads up toward Tschida while his tail flicks back and forth excitedly. He is getting excited because he is talking to his possible mentor. "Solace tribe?? what is that.. can you tell me more about this Solace tribe you speak of?" He says in eager voice as he sits down in front of Tschida, looking puny compared to Tschida's adult body frameHarperking (( rofl )) Sensing that the grown cattaur didn't intend any harm, Ceryn backed down from her defnsive pose. "Darrin, are you ok now? "she asked. Caitlyn HellCloud (( xd )) Darrin turns his head toward Ceryn and nods. "Yeah.. I am fine.. come and join me Ceryn. Apparently he is from the same tribe as me" He responds with a vigorous nodCharlotte Kitsune ((Ry -- Yours will kick butt... XD Everybody's will kick butt if I can manage it! )) Tschida nods slowly, his braids bobbing back and forth and necklace jangling softly as he raises his head. "The Solace tribe is made of all Cat-folk. ALL of them," he insists, stressing the ALL. The island we are on now is the island of Centaurs -- the horse-folk -- and Cervitaurs." He nods toward Ceryn slightly. "The deer-folk. We of the Solace tribe have our own island... a place we call Draiocht." The word rolls musically from his tongue.
"Even when you are not on our island, you are still a part of the Tribe. Though because you are on the island of another, you must show all Taurs respect." He opens his eyes again, looking down at Darrin. "Do you understand?"Harperking Storei A Harper! I've found kindred! *dances* ((another Bardic type? Ceryn and I will be taking our leave now - catch ya'll tomorrow)) Ceryn smiled to see the quick change of emotion in Darrin. "Perhaps another time. I need to get back home before it gets too late. I don't want Harper to worry." With a quick half-bow to the older Taur and a wave to Darrin, she quickly trotted back into the forest. Caitlyn HellCloud (( >_> <_< )) Darrin listens to Tschida intently as he chews on the catnip leaf before he nods quickly at Tschida. "Yes, Tschida.. I understand. But what happened to babies when mommies and daddies either don't want them or get killed?" He looks up at the adult cheetah cattaur with sad eyesCharlotte Kitsune ((G'night Harper!! *hugs* Thanks for the arpee, I always enjoy seeing Ceryn in action. XD )) Tschida's brow furrows for a moment in a rare display of emotion, and he raises one human hand to gently smooth Darrin's hair. "I know your parents wanted you very much, little one. As for being killed... well..." The cheetah looks up at the tree branches for a moment before looking back down at the small lion-taur. "Sometimes these things happen and we can't understand why. But someday it may make more sense to you. But since your real parents are no longer with you, you should live the very best you can... their Spirits will protect you. And this I promise."
He leans down, as if sharing a secret. "All of the Solace tribe are gifted with the magic of our ancestors. They will always be with you."Caitlyn HellCloud (( *now stalks for another custom slot* ninja )) Darrin smiles faintly as he didn't recoil from Tschida's touch. "But why do we have to die? Why does other creatures delight in killing us?" He whispers under his breath before he contiunes to watch his movements and facial expressions and listen to Tschida's soft soothing voice. He cranes his head up and perks up even more when he heard about the gift with the magic. "Really???!!" He exclaims excitedly Charlotte Kitsune "Death can come from anything or anyone. A pack of wolves could find you... a tree in the forest could fall on you." Tschida shrugs. "We can't waste time wondering why it happens. Rather, try to be too quick and too clever for death to catch..." He winks, a low-toned chuckle in his throat.
"And yes. There is rarely one of the Solace tribe who cannot use magic. Though it takes time -- and practice -- to develop it... so you must be patient, little one.
"And remember..." he adds, almost whispering. "Though it is a gift, others may not see it as such. Not all Taurs can do magic, and we must be careful with it." Caitlyn HellCloud "True... soo true.... I want to learn alot from you, Tschida.. could you be my umm... mentor?" He peers up at the adult cheetah cattaur curiously before he offers him some catnip. "Catnip? its delicious and it will make you feel like you could fly!" He nods quickly before he chews on a leaf while listening to Tschida explain to him about the Solace tribe. "So cattaurs are special ones?" he inquires. Charlotte Kitsune Tschida tilts his head slightly, blinking at the catnip Darrin offers... then he laughs. "In all my years... I think this has been the first time a youngling ever offered me the sacred herb. But who am I to refuse?" He accepts the catnip and sniffs it for a moment before putting it in his mouth and chewing it slowly, savouring its flavor. Then he looks back at Darrin, amused. "I've never been anyone's 'mentor' before... I'm not sure if I'm suitable for that job... but I will share things I know, okay? Things from my point of view. And if you choose to listen to them... well, that's up to you."
He chuckles to himself again, amused with the idea of someone seeing HIM as a mentor...
"Well of course, the Solace tribe is special. We alone can use magic. But I'm sure there are things the other tribes can do that we cannot..." ((LMAO, I even got Tschida to call it "sacred herb"... ahahahaa... the Cattaurs are all addicts!! xd )) Caitlyn HellCloud (( *is giving her cats catnip atm ninja * )) Darrin perks up as he hears Tschida's laugh before he nods quickly. "Its sarced??" He blinks in suprise before he chews more on catnip leave purring loudly. He nods at Tschida's comment. "'kee.. thanks Tschida. " He mumbles while he eyes the humans warily((sorry for slow responses.. was gathering up all of the rp I have done in here and posting them in the journal I have in the guild )) Charlotte Kitsune ((Subo -- That would so rock! xd Sei -- Cattaurs are fun! ...and smecksy. *luffs on Tschida*)) Tschida grins at Darrin. "Of course it's sacred... don't go around eating it like candy, or you'll end up falling over. You don't want an immunity to the stuff, do you?"
The cheetah-taur looks unconcerned about any humans or other Taurs present. "You seem like a smart lad... you'll be fine." He purrs, giving Darrin a knowing look. "You have a human who is taking care of you, don't you?"Caitlyn HellCloud ((Subo-- XD please do! )) Darrin grins up at Tschida before he blinks at the word 'immunity'.... "immunity means my body is used to catnip right?" He is not sure if he got the meaning of the word immunity.
He nods in response at his question before he points to a redhead female lounging in the tree. "Yep.. that female human in the tree... she calls herself Caitlyn. What about you?"Seiei Riome blinks at Tschida and strats crying "Mommmmyyyyyy!! That's the mean kitty cat!! Make him go awayyyyyy!!!!!!!" he wailed and and started kicking dirt agound. "I don't likkkkkeeeeeeeeeeeeee him!!"
He started throwing a temper tantrum from not getting a response. "Make him go away NOW!!" he trew himslef on the ground and started hitting it. "NOW NOW NOW!!" He screamed. "No. YOur acting like a baby so walk away and play with someone else!" Twitches Charlotte Kitsune ((Sure Subo... knowing Tschida, he'll have a celebration for some reason and try to give EVERYONE catnip. xd *imagines Centaurs chewing on the stuff, to no effect*))
"Oh... yes, that's right." Tschida is still slowly chewing on his 'n** leaves. "You're very clever for your age."
Tilting his head slightly, he regards the human perched in a nearby tree. "She looks kind..." He turns his attention back to Darrin. "No, no, not I. I was born before the humans found these islands, you see. My parents were also killed when I was very young, and I stayed with the tribe for a while... but mostly I raised myself. ...I have met one of the humans though, Charlotte. She seems nice enough. A bit spacey," he mutters, "but nice."

Dearest Journal,
I have been watching Darrin Irae for some time and staying out of his way so he would socalize with other 'taurs more easily without having to run to me every time a problem arises. He thinks he is the king which amuses me to no ends because theres many 'taurs whom is amused or irked at his notion of himself being king of them. He have some friends and hopefully they will help him and protect him from disgruntled 'taurs or residents of the Isles. But so far, Darrin found a mentor in an adult cheetath cattaur who goes by the name of Tschida and he sticks close to Tschida alot. I am so excited that cattaurs have decided to grant me the guardianship of Darrin Irae.

Dear Royal Journal,
My human guardian encourages me to keep the journal so I can keep track of my thoughts and activites. I think its stupid but she won't let me defy her so I am going to start writing down so she will shut her yapping.
Anyway, my name is Darrin Irae and I am the lion cattaur (duh!). I am the future king of the Cein Isles. Alot of 'taurs have laughed in my face and mocked me when I told them that I am the future king. I am getting quite upset with the fact that they don't believe me. I have the mentor, his name is Tschida and he is big adult cheetah cattaur. I helped him chase away one bad stalker and my chest is hurt. I am laying here right now drinking the tea Caitlyn made me and is under strict orders not to move or anything which irks me. I feel this tea kicking in so I am going to sleep. Bye!
