I said I was a second year Japanese student. (But the college currently recognises meas a first because I studied on my own for one year and skipped only a semester.)
If I asked what you spoke I would say 何語が分かりますか。(なんごがわかりますか。) (What language do you understand?) What I was asking is what would you like to talk about, although I'm probably missing something.
Ahh.. I saw:
何は話しますか
And I recognized "nani" (one of the few kanji I know- "what") ha (wa?) hanashimasu ("to speak") ka (interrogative). I was thinking the last sentence meant "what do you speak?". Did I misinterpret?

And as for the sentence before, I saw "I am 2
year of Japanese." So does ねんせい refer to what level of class you're in?
