I am the only one who hates Halloween? I feel the need to vent. I just do not see the point of Halloween. It seems to me as though the whole idea is to just annoy me. And if that makes me self involved then so be it. The world clearly gets more obsessed with it by the year just to spite me.

lol, I for one like Halloween. The costumes are fun. ^_^ There really isn't a 'point' I mean really, what's the 'point' of any holiday other than to have a day of fun/relaxation stuff like that.

halloween is probably the only major holiday I do actually like. mainly because it's optional. like st. patrick's day, or labor day. you either participate or you don't. if someone asks you to go to a halloween party, you can go, nah I don't do halloween. and most if not all people will be cool with it. with the other holidays that are mainly family oriented, you feel obligated to go or participate. besides, halloween is a great excuse to dress up, at like your 2 years old, and eat a crap ton of candy that you wouldn't normally. whee
I've never been obsessed with a holiday. in fact, I hate pretty much all of the major ones. but halloween... I'm okay with. I've never liked decorating, so all the decorations and gobbledygook that goes with it... I could totally care less about.
if you're taking a religious aspect to it... you could say that about any religion. what's the point? it's become so commercialized... etc. etc.
maybe if you explained why it annoyed you we could be more sympathetic? sweatdrop

I think I don't like Halloween because if I stay home I have to answer the door about fifty million times, and be basically blackmailed into giving out sweets to children who already eat too many sweets and have no teeth as it is. And this year I have my own house (as in I don't live with my parents) and I'm slightly terrified that if I go out I'll come back to toilet roll and eyes threw the letterbox. It just makes me really uncomfortable.
I'm quite tempted to be one of those people who give out boxes of raisins.

lol, raisins are better than toothbrushes, or floss. xd
You could just leave a bowl full of candy (preferably the one w/ the moving hand razz ) outside with a nice sign telling them to please only take 1 or 2. That way you don't have to be bothered to answer the door. I've done that before so kids could get candy while we were out trick-or-treating, haha I saw some of the kids going for the bowl, they sooo knew the hand was gonna move but they were still all scared. razz My mom is a Jehovah's Witness so they don't celebrate & they just turn all the lights off in the house to pretend no one's home or go out for the night so they don't have to deal with it.

I can deal with Raisins being thrown. As long as it's not eggs. Or flour. I think I'll just hide my car for the night and seal up the letter box and go far far away. flying_azn i wouldn't reccomend raisins if teenagers come then they might throw some at your house sweatdrop

I don't hate it, but I've definitely grown out of it. I usually just eat the candy that is left because nobody ever trick-or-treats in our neighborhood. 3nodding

Blasphemize I don't hate it, but I've definitely grown out of it. I usually just eat the candy that is left because nobody ever trick-or-treats in our neighborhood. 3nodding Nobody comes to our neighborhood either... sad ...everybody's at the mall trick-or-treating. poo. It's warmer, but idk it's like the whole Halloween feel is lost & it just becomes a mad dash for the store giving out the candy. gonk
