What do you think?
It was pretty. I cried a little.
  Meh, could be better
  No, it was mushy crap

This is a blurby poem thing I had to write for an English class. It's dedicated to my Gramma Vera who passed this past May a few days before my birthday and Gramma Vic who passed in July 2002. But, really, it's for anyone who has ever lost someone in their lives that they were close to.
Warning: I've been told it's a tear-jerker

Absence makes the heart go fonder.
That is what they say.
But with you gone, my heart is sadder
With every passing day.
I think of the good times we had.
And, also, those that were sad.
You always had a kind word,
When I was in despair.
Always optimistic, you made me smile.
You always said you'd be around for a long long while.
But God, I fear, had other plans
And did not let you stay.
He couldn't bear to see you ill.
So, he took you away.
Your memory still burns strong,
Like an inferno in my heart.
And I think of how I love you,
Even though we are apart.
And though I want to cry,
When I think of you not seen.

I know that you smile on me,
With your silver angel wings.

Oh... you did make me tear up, I usually don't- well done! It was dramatic and human without being long and making me sad, very nice.

That was really sad, and really, really good. I really can't find anything that needs fixing with the structure, and the feeling and emotion is just perfect.
