it's just across the street from Anderson Park, where the Schlotzsky's used to be (now a Payless), && with the Value Village. don't worry, I'm sure you don't know where I'm talking about -- I'll put a screenie from Google Maps towards the end of this post.
come every friday just in front of Anderson Park if you'd like to participate - the signs are provided, although you're welcome to make/use your own.
all we do it stand on the sidewalk starting at six 'til seven (though I always arrive at 5:30) holding a sign towards the street for those driving by to see. dinner is almost always provided, && nearly all of the food is vegan (except breads etc. made from eggs - but the eggs come from a perfectly happy source. if you need more info ask)
it's a picnic with all homemade food, except for the occasional food from the Chiense restaurant. also, on fridays, the Old Firehouse hosts music shows (two or four bands, about) which last 'til 11, if you can't get a ride immediately at 7. (or just want to hang out)
most of the people at the rally are 30-70ish, but everyone's really friendly && respectful. myself && my friends are 13/14 (there *are* a few of us) so you won't be alone if you're younger. ^^

one last thing: THIS IS PERFECTLY SAFE! it's (generally) in broad daylight, around many, many people, && it's been going on for over four years -- cops haven't ever been called on 'em. (been with it one/two months now, myself)

Don't much care for war. Can't say that I hate Bush though. Hatred doesn't get anybody anywhere. Guess it's not for me. sad

Guess it's not for me. sad Just because you are anti something doesn't mean you hate it. It means you dissaprove and dislike of its ways, habits, or what it stands for. Being anti somethings istn nessecarily a bad thing. The very fact that is it a PEACE rally indicates the lack of hate. There is no hate in peace And I would love to come, as I completly agree with all that, but I can't normally make it : /

Bring the war to the forfront of peoples minds is important so may people forget in their daily shuffle that we are even in a war, that people like my husband (not currently deployed but has been), are far from home and in consant danger. Enduring things you can't imagine, and for what? I think it's great that people are at the very least reminding others that there is a war going on, especially see that the news can only report on people with the last name Spears. Anyway more power to you.

Anyway more power to you. Yes it's sad the ignorance of a lot of people. I get my news from CNN and Rense.com. A good mix of entertainment, serious news and a little unusual tidbits.
