CNN Meteorologist Rob Marciano clapped his hands and exclaimed, "Finally," in response to a report that a British judge might ban the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" from UK schools because, according to "American Morning," "it is politically biased and contains scientific inaccuracies."

"There are definitely some inaccuracies," Marciano added. "The biggest thing I have a problem with is this implication that Katrina was caused by global warming."

Marciano went on to explain that, "global warming does not conclusively cause stronger hurricanes like we've seen," pointing out that "by the end of this century we might get about a 5 percent increase."

The case stems from a father's claims that the film is brainwashing propaganda, who told The Telegraph, "I am determined to prevent my children from being subjected to political spin in the classroom."

The Business and Media Institute has extensively critiqued the media's coverage of global warming in Fire & Ice, which covers a hundred years of coverage of global warming. While journalists have warned of climate change for more than 100 years, the warnings switched from global cooling to warming to cooling and warming again.

UPDATE: Marciano also sarcastically said, "the Oscars, they give out awards for fictional films as well."

i honestly dont think that us as humans are causing global warming
the earth has actually been proven to be moving closer to the sun at a regular rate of speed each year
so when people say that its the "greenhouse gasses" they are pretty much full of s**t

i think there are better things we can worry about instead of how something we have no control over is happening

To be sure..but I doubt that should be taken as a license to emit co2 into the atmosphere, uncontrolled.

In my opinion, global warming is a hoax. The average temperature of the earth has actually gone down 5 degrees F since The early 1800s.

I have mixed reactions about this, because I think Gobal warming is PARTLY our fault. Not entirely, but at least partly. The main problem, though is that most of the "solutions" proposed require radical change to bring about, AND they cost a lot of money, meaning few are willing to make the leap required for a cleaner economy.

On top of that, I'm not convinced the government wants to do anything about it until it absolutly has to, in order to protect their tax base. For example, I've heard that in the midwest, they are pulling over trucks and testing the fuel to make sure its NOT biodiesil. The reason, Road Tax. Trucks found using untaxed biodeisil instead of oil based deisil face fines up to $500 for every untaxed gallon. Apparently, the government is perfectly happy with air pollution and dependece on forieghn oil. Whats important is that they get their cut, not that we become more self sufficient on cleaner, renewable energy.

Instead, they're pushing things like the Hydrogen Highway, where they controll all the fuel and there is no chance of producing untaxed fuel in your backyard. When the government is activly trying to block the shift from oil to renewable energy, on the basis of lost tax revenue, its hard to actually make any progress. So, until someone comes up with a simple solution that doesn't threaten to cut big brother out of any money, I'm afraid we're kinda stuck with it.
