So today I went in for a 3 hour blood test where they took my blood every hour and stuff to confirm if I have this one thing or not. So I wake up at 6:30 a.m. and make it over to the office around 8. I go in and get called to the room where they draw blood. The first lady in there felt around for a vein, but couldn't find any. So she called another lady in and she felt around and found a spot on my right arm. Inserted the needle and took three tubes of blood. Easy, right? So I drink this one thing, go out and come back the next hour. She decided to try my left arm this time, and thought she found a spot after 5 minutes and right before she stuck the needle in she stabbed her finger with it and started laughing. She said that never happened to her the whole 20 years she has been doing this, she threw the needle away and the both of us were laughing for a few minutes. So she found the spot again and she missed the vein and some blood splattered in the tube. She took the needle out and threw the tube away. So now it was time for the butterfly needle. Some of you might know what it is, so she opened it up and the needle fell off, and she said, "Girl do you have some sort of magical powers, this hasn't happened to me before either." And this commenced in us laughing again for a few more minutes. She shouted out to one of the nurses, "This girl really scares me" So she found a spot, put another butterfly needle in (which hurt really bad =D) and some blood came out. She said, "Now don't be so angry like you were this time causing all of these bad things to happen." So I come back the next hour, and I'm all like yeah it will work this time. So I sit down, she takes out the butterfly needle and inserts it in my arm and blood spatters into the tube for a second then stops, so she proceeds to move the needle around under my skin (I was in pain) and gave up when she couldn't hit a vein. So she threw the tube away, and the needle. At this point my previous spot on the right arm is bleeding again so the chair has all these cotton balls on it. Hahaha. And then she uses another butterfly needle, gets the blood and I'm done. She said, "It looks like we performed surgery in here." And we laughed.
The aftermath? Bruises, and it hurts really bad to move my arms the slightest. ;D Oh I love blood tests and the fact I have 5 new needle marks, I still have one from Monday. <3
